    New transfer period, new thread.

    Lots of rumours going round.

    I'll sum up

    ---
    - $20M bid for Milner rejected
    - Ireland wants out
    - Nedum does not think he will be here next year
    - Jerome Boateng is very near to confirmed a deal, around $12M

Who should we target? Who do you think we will bring in?

Simon Kjaer has put Premier League clubs on notice, says he would be open to a move.

    Very interested if true.

Higuian and Dzeko would be amazing. Only one though, as we ahve a multitude of strikers as it is.
Gago, interested to a degree. depending on the fee.

Real Madrid is clearly indicating that Higuain is not for sale.

On the other hand, David Silva is linked, Yaya Toure, and Ibra are all linked.

Truthfully if Ireland leaves I will be gutted, it will just symbolize what the club has become. Sure they talk a good talk about raising young talent from the academy but if most of your graduates cannot even get a game then its just talk. I want to see players with a connection with the club not 23 mercenaries.

btw I do think Dzeko would be a nice signing. I think he will pair up with Tevez quite well.

Pull the other one Juanca, Zigic is like Crouch except good in the air and not half as good when the ball's on the deck. He's decent, but not elite quality.

I too would be shattered if Stevie left, although the hard thing is that it's all in his head (alledgedly, just what i have heard). Technically, and physically he is ready to go. Wish him the best of luck, whatever happens.

No clue, Mancini has said that a majority of the players we have been linked with aren't actual targets.

I'm wondering what the hold up in Jerome Boateng's transfer is though ..

Boateng has officially signed, it's on the OS now.

Good, glad it's finally done! Welcome to Manchester Jerome!

He struggled with injury and lost his place in the first team, his form was not good enough and he probably wasn't given a proper shot. Rumours abound that he may be facing psychological issues as well.

I would be shattered if he left.

    total nutcase that boy...

however, sparked seemed to comprehend him and get the best out of him.

anyway, however talented, i have a feeling his career will never really hit the heights expected of him.

petrov and benjani are going to start scrambles amongst the bottom 1/2 of the table...

petrov would be a nice signing for birmingham IMO.

    Interesting.

I'm trying to think who kept him out of the starting 11... Perhaps he was disappointed with De Jong and A.Johnson starting ahead of him:confused:

You would think SWP would feel the same.

Perhaps the combination of Tevez, Ade and Bellamy was keeping them out.

Petrov is old, injury prone, and a stroppy player who mouths off when he isn't getting a game. He also doesn't know what 'defence' means and probably has never tracked back in his lifetime.

He's great when he's getting a game, but he was never gunna beat out Bellamy (who works his arse off up and down the field every game), Robinho or Adam Johnson.

Why do we only look to sign players from EPL clubs?

Besides Robinho I cannot think of a player we've recruited outside of England.

Very happy to get Milner. Class act.

I'm sure Barry will be pleased as well.
