Honuras is definitely sniffing the goal to put them in the lead something fierce. Jack is keeping this thing tied. What a brilliant punch save!
He just signed with Communicaciones (sp?) in Guatemala a month ago or so. Bummed me out 'cause he had been playing for Marathon in Honduras, my favorite team ('cause they're sponsored by Tropical brand pop...Tropical Banana...mmmm *drools*).
Fair result I guess, either team could have won as they both had some good chances in the 2nd half. I thought Honduras surely had a 2nd goal on that chip shot that went high, but T&T's long strike (that the keeper got injured on) was really close too.
I'm hoping someone out there has an answer to this. It was strange. I watched the game last night, and he reached up to block a long shot by TnT, then flinched back as he was near full extent. Then rolled to the ground. The ball was high, and he never got a hand on it, as far as I could tell from the replays. Even stranger, it looked like they went to a corner kick, though I didn't see any deflection either. As they stretchered him off, it looked like a hand injury. I couldn't even hazard a guess what kind, though.
What connection does he have to T&T? Born in England, schooled in England, plays in England. edit: nevermind, i read all of that stuff on that page.
Reports are it was a separated shoulder, although I haven't seen anything on what actually caused it. As for the corner kick, the replay showed no deflection or save; I think the ref just got it wrong.
That bogus corner made up for the very first shot of the game by Theobold that took a big deflection out and the ref gave a goal kick ... go figure.. concacaf officiating strikes again
