Hi everyone, As I was driving home from work, Jason Botchford from the Vancouver Province was on the team 1040. He said that Swangard was planning for some major upgrades, potentially for an MLS team. Unfortunately, I have no link. Did anyone hear anything on the subject?? I really hope that there is no serious bid's other than the Kerfoot/Nash bid....
It won't matter what renovations are planned for Swanguard. That running track will never be removed. I hope MLS is not seriously considering the Aquilini bid. He is such a sleazeball.
A rival bid for an MLS team with the stadium in Burnaby would only (hopefully) spark the fast track for the downtown stadium. I don't know how the city of vancouver would want to lose a revenue stream if the whitecaps do not settle in d/t vancouver. If i was the MLS, why would I settle in swangard, when i can potentially have a downtown team with a sports icon like Steve Nash as an owner? ps. damn you aquilini..
