Again, no cast spoilers until CBS releases the list! I started this thread because on Probst's twitter he said they're airing the first couple minutes of first episode during Wednesday's People's Choice Awards if anybody wants to watch. I would imagine we'll see much, if not all, of the new cast. Not sure when during the show it's on, but there ya go.

Danielle voted out Terry. Remember Terry, he won every immunity challenge after the merge except for the last one. And he was a manly man, so Probst loved him and thought (at the time) he was the greatest player who ever was, and it was so unfair he couldn't win. Terry was a huge hero. So Danielle is a villain. A more rational view of Terry is that he had the too powerful individual immunity idol too (which Yul used to great effect the next season), but he completely wasted it. He did nothing to help the rest of his tribe while they were Pagong'd. His only strategy was to win every immunity and hope everyone voted for him because he was so awesome. I guess Candace is a hero because she was Jonathan's enemy and Probst hates Jonathan.
I have been waiting for this list ! I also can't wait until they start airing the show. Should be a good one.
i read up on her last night and still have no recollection of her. maybe on Candace, but her most famous move (her ONLY move?) was mutiny. she turned her back on her own tribe. and that makes her a hero? plus, did she even make the jury? my guess is they wanted a cute blonde out there.
That's all I remember about her. And she has big teeth. Candace made it pretty far, she had a good shot at winning until Jonathan flipped because Yul showed him the idol. I read somewhere that maybe they wanted to separate people who played on the same tribes in the previous season? So one of Parvati and Candace has to be a hero, and one of Cirie and Danielle has to be a villain.
Nice list of names but I am bummed out Erik from Fans vs. Favorites isn't gonna be part of this season.
I really like the fact that they brought Rupert back. He was one of my favorite castaways. Boston Rob is cool too.
i'm tired of some of them, though. Amanda and James .... seen them now for the third time in six seasons. Somebody like Rupert or Colby being back is OK because it's been a while. I thought Terry, the fighter pilot, who dominated his season physically like few others (only to be eliminated by worthless Danielle when equally worthless Aras won) would be back. I am delighted to see Tom the firefighter back, though. I woulda also liked to see Lex from Africa. one of my all-timers.
http://www.ew.com/ew/video/survivor Go listen to Danielle's interview. They have a cut-in with Jeff Probst where he says Danielle is a villain because she backstabbed Terry and cost him $1 million. Ha ha ha. Probst is such a predictable tool, especially when it comes to his man crushes.
that doesn't make Danielle a villian ... she did the only thing she could to give her a chance at a million. that was her only move. don't buy it, Jeff ... bad choice.
mike skupin. yes, he would've been an EXCELLENT choice. another guy who woulda been interesting, though I'm not sure what team he would be on, was the guy who made his own blackberry out there, and just quit smoking. that was was crazy. i guess he'd fit if it was heroes v. villians v. nutjobs. EDIT: Shane was his name. another good villian would've been Brian from Thailand, the softcore pornstar. that man dominated his season like few others. granted, he had a VERY weak cast of survivors, but he still owned that game. and he was sleazy. good player, good villian.
oh, I also wanted to say that I loved Rupert the first time around ... but he's kinda annoying (I watched his video). Stephanie brought up a good point about him -- we can all feed ourselves now, the only thing he was good for his gone. Probst mentioned that the other survivors could be tired of his title of 'america's most beloved survivor' (that's non-spoiler, Probst handicapped every player). another thing that probst mentioned that I would LOVE to see is a Russell-Boston Rob alliance. love it or hate it, it would be damn entertaining television!
the more I'm thinking about it now knowing the cast, the less excited I am for the season. I'm VERY tired of Amanda, James and all of the others. I've seen Boston Rob on two survivors and two amazing races. I'm interested to see somebody like Fireman tom. but some of these people I'm just tired of. Oh, and Parvati can just leave and shut up anytime now. Please, please, please.
My nickname for her is poverty swallows. How she won is beyond me. Always about using her sex appeal and nothing else. She's a one trick pony. Just amazing how people keep falling for her game all the time. What does she do have sex with the other players?
The season of Survivor I'd love to see is all the first-outs competing. That would be fun. All those people who only had 3 days.
