This is the plot for a motion picture satire, not a real television program. My God, what's happening to us all?

What a stunt. Not sure why they felt the need to do this since they've had a black and an hispanic winner before (despite the supposed lack of diversity among applicants). Then again, having segregation imposed, at least for the first few weeks, might more accurately serve as a mirror of society. Guess we'll see.

i'm reserving judgement until I see how they handle it (the producers AND the players). It could be very interesting to see how people cope, etc. Or it could be crass.

For me, the deciding factor will be when the tribes merge (to two tribes and later to one tribe). Tribal loyalties are always a strong tie that people are pressured into keeping. Turn your back on your tribe and you're in trouble. Will it now have the added dimension of turning on your race? Will it make alliances harder to crack? What if an asian person leaves their group after a merge to allign with the whities?
it's either gonna be really interesting or a big disaster. Yeah, I'm gonna watch to see which one it ends up as.

    :)

they are ... the last was the lowest rated one yet ... but it's still high in the top 20 (top 10?). they're low ratings for survivor, but better ratings than most shows. couple that with a relatively low cost compared to other shows .... I just don't see it as a desparate act to save the show.
I like that they're trying something different ... but this is gonna be tricky to pull off.

Well the last show started with age/gender groups, old/young men/woman. The Young men were the pathetic ones at first!

Why? It's a waste of a perfectly good frequency. Flawed news, racist survivor, Katie Couric reading the news, nothing else worth watching. That's why. Only idiots watch it.

ah, I get it. people who watch shows you don't like are idiots. but people who come onto a message board and read a thread about a show they hate are cool? refined? complete a-holes? help me out here.
    it's entertainment.
change the channel and find a new thread if you're unhappy.

I'm wondering if the white contestants are neo-Nazi's or members of the KKK.

Personally I've never been interested in Survivor and I've yet to see a single episode of it. But I'll totally glean random info about it from BS if I'm bored, and part of me really wants this season to turn into a ratings-getter for all the wrong reasons.

Hispanics can be of any race. It's one of those vague labels. I have to admit this sounds like race bating. It could be a trainwreck waiting to happen.

    Exactly.

Have any of you ever been to a boxing match between a Mexican fighter and a Puerto Rican fighter? The fans don't exactly rally around the "Hispanic" banner. There's a lack of nuance here.
