Just an FYI ... but I wanted to get what info I have out ...

I've already got a contact set up at the Rent in Hartford, as well as someone at US Soccer. Ticket prices haven't been set yet, but I've been informed that I'll be one of the first to know when they have and that they'll start working immediately with the Midnight Riders on Supporter's Section tickets.

That's great news on the tickets. I've already drummed up a bit of interest at work and with our town soccer program. Everyone wants to know the minute the ticket announcements are made.

    Is there any progress toward:
    • Tailgate area
    • Local media coverage
    • Public transportation to/from the match
    • Tailgate supplies for out-of-towners
    • For that matter, locals to host/transport visitors
Is there anything you, Monty, can delegate to the First Connecticut Company of the Boston Brigade? Reporting for duty, Sir!

    - HWM

Obviously, we'll need help re tailgate supplies. Any news on public transport (from some centralized point where the hotels people are staying at to the the stadium) would be good as well.

I'm waiting to hear about the tailgate area.

Local media ... email/write/push your local media to make sure they'll cover this match. My guess is they will anyway, since it's not like they have a WCQ in Hartford all that often. But never hurts...

WCX will be bringing a hefty contingent as well. Check out the new web page that was graciously set up by a soccer loyalist in Fl.

And thanks Monty for the hospitality at Foxboro. Anything you'd like the WCX to do - -give me a holler.

I just spoke with my contact at MSG Hartford and found out something that's just pathetic.

US Soccer has asked these stadiums to no longer honor group seating prices. In other words, last year the US/El Sal match, the Midnight Riders were able to sell $35 tickets for $20.

US Soccer is saying that they will not honor group prices for these matches anymore.

    Really really a pathetic move.

Anyway, they're hoping to have info out soon ...

just don't understand why they would choose to piss off their most loyal fans. It's not like the whole world is privvy to this information about $20 tickets. we probably accounted for 800 or so fans at foxboro with the price discount and US soccer can't afford(800x20 - 800x35=) $16,000 not to mention the additional concessions our section bought. they make twice that on the ridiculous price of midfield tickets anyway. plus we gave the stadium atmosphere and our boys vocal support which they so desperately need

Tickets for US/T&T at Rentschler Field in East Hartford are now available!

They can be ordered through US Soccer through the following link: http://dps.altdc3.va.twimm.net/USSF/doc/content/doc_6_259.pdf

Tickets are $27 each ($25 for groups of 10), with a $3 handling fee per order.

The US Supporters section will be based in Section 109 (see here: http://www.rentschlerfield.com/images/seat_map.gif)

The Midnight Riders are still working on a pretailgate party (from 12-4?) in downtown Hartford and the tailgate info, and hoping to have that info soon.

    Go US!

so, what gives with the pricing? section 109 looks endzone to me, which ticketmaster says is $23. is there a premium for sitting in this section? is this just ussoccer's way of having ticketmaster-type pricing but without stating the extra fees? or is section 109 part of the corner seating and thus this is a discount?

ticketmaster won't take my password, so i may have no choice! can anyone who has used ticketmaster for this event comment on the fees?

That I don't know. It's how US Soccer is doing the pricing for the game. The Midnight Riders have had no say in the pricing for this match, unlike the games we host at Foxboro.

My guess is the $2 extra per ticket (the lowest price according to the US Soccer release was listed at 25, not 23) is still a lot less than you would pay to buy through Ticket Master. Also note, you can't buy tickets in the Sam's Army/US Supporter's section unless you go through US Soccer.

yeah if you order thru ticketmaster it will cost like 8 dollars per ticket handling, 3 dollar per ticket charge, plus shipping, so if US Soccer wants to up the price 2 dollars and have one 3 dollar charge, than I am extremely happy

the endzone seats are $23 on ticketmaster, but there is then a $2 facility charge and a $7.15 convenience charge, so even at a $4 premium, the ussf offer is a bargain, at least relatively speaking.

sorry for taking us off topic, these charges just irk me. and, why is there a facility charge at all - isn't that what the tickets are supposed to be for in the first place. seriously, set the ticket price and let's be done with it.

i got my tickets through the ticketmaster and paid the above listed charges for section 134.

ussoccer can't be in the business of full facility management and complete ticket sales and distribution, so specialists like ticketbastard can get in a charge a fee for their services.

but if you want to sit in section 109 with the ussoccer supporters, then getting your tickets through ussoccer with the form linked on page one of this thread is certainly the way to go, and it is less expensive and soul-crushing than using ticketmaster.

ticket prices and service fees will always be more than you want them to be, but thankfully less than you are willing and able to pay. that way we can attend the match and still gripe about something even if the US dominates and wins handily with beautiful play. it's the best of both worlds.

If the US dominates and wins handily in a qualifier ... there's nothing to gripe about.

I'll be out of retirement and at the match! Gotta go when Uncle Sam comes to your hometown!

Are the fine folks at The Rent going to allow banners this time around? I remember them not allowing them at the Liverpool/Celtic match last year. No one can say no to the Big Ass Flag!

"New rules have been instituted for this event ONLY.

For this event, flags, banners, and signs will be allowed into the stadium. Noisemakers such as bells, drums and plastic trumpets will also be allowed, while air horns remain prohibited.

Please visit our Building Policies page for other items allowed or not allowed into the stadium."

From the stadium site, although let's try and leave the plastic horns out.
