Come on out anyway. Most people there probably won't initially know most of the other people there - and it'll be cool to finally meet in person some more folks from BS. It'll be fun.

Can you imagine a bunch of people wearing Big Soccer name tags? Funny stuff.

Until the last few months, I was league scheduler of the Bay Area Soccer League (BASL); we have about 60 adult teams (men, women, and coed) comprising about 1000 players. I got league permission and sent an email today to all players and coaches in the league, and put an announcement on the BASL website.

Hopefully that'll draw in a few!

Please, I would advise for something along this line, as those of us who have a bad time of remembering whose names belong to who's faces (namely, me! :D ) will have a much better chance of getting these little details down.

Especially with "adult beverages" thrown into the mix...

Edit: I hit submit before I realized that I forgot to offer to bring some blank name tags, if no one else objects...

Sweet! I'm looking forward to this event guys/girls... I really want to support this team. Only reason I stopped following/playing soccer was b/c I moved out of L.A. when the MLS was new :(

Trying to image the look on one of my roommates faces when someone calls and asks for FuBoy. Heheh.

Maybe I should change it to Gorley. Too many James's in the fraternity - so we all used last names. I'd probably answer to FuBoy before I'd answer to James. Does that mean I'm quickly becoming a BS Addict?

Dude...I have some buddies of mine on BS that I meet up with every now and then and there's nothing like your friends/family hearing someone shout out, "Hey Freak what's up man?" and then I turn around and say, "Hey what's up Chapulin??" lol!!! You should see their faces.....lmao!! :D

My LJ name is also yanks02 and when I go to meet up with people from LJ-land I am called yanks. I actually feel weirder calling most of them by their real name than I do their internet handel.

So I'd probably answer faster to yanks than I would Johnna. It's habit. :D

    Tonight's the night!

I'll be going to see Harry Potter on the IMAX since I'll already be on that side of town before the meeting. So I'm doubly excited!

    See yall there.
