Alright...the letter has been sent to the contact e-mails of The Unity and Gelbe Wand (which is the umbrella group). We'll give them a week or so to respond and I will keep you posted if anything comes in. Perhaps a Black and Yellow Trans-Atlantic Alliance is in the works.
As for the A-league Route... I've joined up on the Wellington Pheonix boards and have started chatting with all their lot. The team reminds me of the Crew...well the Crew of the past, constantly rebuilding and what not. So far atleast one of their fans so far professes to likeing the Crew so I figure after a bit I'll bring up the whole alliance thing. just an update
Tell him Aussie joke's that will sill the deal....I.E..how do you know Jesus Christ aint a Aussie......there's no Virgins in Australia..
I just went to the Crewture website and evidently the e-mail I sent didn't get through a spam filter or something for Ultra' Sankt Pauli. I don't know why...I sent it through my Ohio State e-mail account. Evidently they want me to re-send the e-mail to their group. I will do this tonight.
They seemed rather impressed that there were true supporters here...maybe add this video on the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxc4aGZFz6U so they can get a concept of our groups. EDIT: This video would also be good as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaNSOYUJqM4&feature=related
I just sent them the e-mail again. I didn't send the clip because I thought that it might have been the video clips that could have put the e-mail into the spam section. If it seems like a partnership could be moving forward, I'll be sure to send the clips.
Ultra St. Pauli responded ?!?! http://crewonespot.blogspot.com/2008/11/youve-got-mail-from-germany.html anyways...great news for Columbus; prawpa nawty.
Not that I have a problem with it being a Celtic man we all have a spot for St.Pauli but they are very political and very very left of center which might throw off some of our guys...
I'm about as far right as any of the people here and I think it's a great thing, so I wouldn't worry about that too much.
Yes, it may be in poor taste (if you are offended, p*ss off, I bear no ill will), but I've been dying to give these guys a run out:
you know, i had always heard about the guy, and i really didnt realize his work was so funny until i took that history class. charlie chaplin, that is. History of Art
Come on Mike stand up now they want to spared the wealth there Socialist Marxist ...Communists....Terrorist Come now Mike we cant soil the good name of Columbus Crew with a group of Commies(I love the fact they come on the park to Hells Bells thats cool if you a righty or a lefty)... I haven't heard anything back from Ultra' Sankt Pauli since I sent them a response a week or two ago. Evidently though, Barra Brava seems to have their own alliance system going. http://www.barra-brava.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=22&Itemid=23 Any suggestions on moving forward?
One of this things that I look at as I view the Burrito Boys page that you just put up is that most of those clubs are where DCU players either went to or came from. Maybe we could approach it that way. For instance, Frankie played at Bayer Leverkusen. Robbie played at Heerenveen. Gino played at Queens Park, Montpilliier, and Wigan. Moffet played at Elgin City (scottish 3rd division). Dr. Khumalo played for Kaiser Chiefs before and after his stint with the Crew. Dooley played for 3 or 4 German teams. Same with Stern John in England. Marcos Gonzalez went to Universidad Catholica in Chile. Why not give some of those places a try as we already have a small connection with them?
Not to make excuses for the USP, but I know they've been a bit busy lately. They've had a few away matches against some rivals (teams with big fascist support) and they organized a big protest against the TV in Germany and weeknight games. Just an idea, but maybe this is something we want to try during an international week or the off season as these ultra groups will not be busy preparing for that week's games.
well I think BvB went over well on this board, I'm continuing to chat with the Kiwi's down on yellowfever boards but fortunately I haven't had the time to chat with 'em much since i'm still fully on the Crew. Unfortunatly alliance wise they just signed Fred from DC on loan, who'd have thought he'd end up in black and gold? Another idea we might want to try is a lower level club in europe, I have sneaking feeling the bigger boys really won't care the same way say a bundisliga 2 or coke league team would. Also what are our thoughts on Fulham? Lots of us like 'em, and they did have Mcbride before he turned to the dark side. They might be open to the idea.
From what I saw on the Crewfighter website I thought the St. Pauli supporters seemed curious and interested so I am suprised they havent responded. I vote no on Fulham and wouldnt mind QPR
now you're just being silly Page was old joke listing elders clubs and old groups aside from Oscar's barra. Then it got copied to new page but noone bothered to redo it.
Brownies own 'em too, That should help sway a few. Though I'm a steelers fan myself. The problem i'd view is they may be large enough to not care.
