Will Keane will be rewarded for his form with a place in the squad for tomorrow's game. About time and good for him...
We'll destroy Sunderland but equally important is to make sure the boys can walk off the pitch under their power. We've lost way too many players to injury long spells this season and we're hanging on by a thread as it is already. Even if it takes boring, sideways football to keep everyone healthy we have to do whatever it takes to put the outcome beyond any doubt by the 70th minute and be done with Sunderland, a sorry club which got hammered in in the US by USL sides.
A 0-1 win would be just fine and net us the same thing in the end. This is not going to be an easy game not only because we're on the road against a desperate opponent, but mainly because Sunderland are exactly the type of team we have struggled against: in all likelyhood, they'll bunker down, give us the lion share of the possession and try to pick their spots on the counter. This has all the ingredients of a trap game and United will have to be on their toes, especially defensively.
Perhaps we need to fix our own house first, consistently, before talking about destroying any team in this league. We've averaged 1.16 points per game in the last 12 games. That's barely better than Sunderland over the last 12 league games.
There are some interesting matchups on offer for this: looking forward to see Martial vs Yedlin, Darmian vs Borini should be interesting also. Van Aanholt and Defoe are the guys we need to keep a close eye on as well.
Own Goal, back from loan scores the late winner.......Woodward tearfully embraces LVG and extends him for 3 more years.....
Yes!! Hopefully he's getting sold to some Chinese club. Although its more likely that he was injured (Thanks to Jones obviously). Also this is Donald Love's first call up to the first team squad.
The first of many meaningless league games til the end of the season. Top 4 are gone and just better....and the manager is off come the summer.
