    Yedlin against Howard.

Sunderland have already hit 2 posts.

Gerry D. scores for Everton, against the run of play really.

    And now it's all Everton.

Nothing terribly good or bad from Yedlin so far. Sunderland is attacking more down their left, and Everton is attacking down Sunderland's left.

3-5-2 system was working until Everton remembered how bad Van Aanholt is at defending.

And Sunderland have 0 defenders on the bench. Not sure where Billy Jones is, but he could play that position and, you know, actually defend.

2-0 now through Kone. Lots of ball watching going on the the Sunderland defenders.

Yikes Sunderland sitting back waiting to get scored on again.

Yeah, just as the color guy was saying that all the Everton possession was useless. That was a great example of how a long spell of possession eventually gets the defense to have a lapse.

If Cattermole has to come off, this could end 6 or 7 nil.

Our boy is staying in shape. He may be learning something. Probably that he would like to get back to London.

Probably wouldn't see the 18 on most match days in London, though. At least he's playing.

Did cattermole come off hurt? He and mvilla are having trouble covering enough ground in the middle with van ahn and Johnson getting over run out left.

He wasn't "weak", just didn't do too much. Looks like Big Sam changed the shape.

It probably didn't matter on the goal but there was no way to know if he would have made a difference had he hustled.

That said, Sunderlands defense and formation are all wrong. Something had to be done.
