January window is closed and with our boy Bale tearing it up the summer transfer rumors are in full blast so I thought I'd start this.

Rumors are that Madrid is going to offer Higuain + cash for Bale. As much as I'd love to have a striker in our club Bale shouldn't leave at all. I know he will eventually but I expect he will stay to play in Europe one more time at least.

Everything hinges on CL. Further to that, if he we can snag 3rd that would be particularly huge, as it would give us direct entry without he need for a potentially tricky qualifier.

Striker coming in with Adebayor going out is the must.

I wish the Julian Draxler would come to Spurs. Awesome middlefielder, young, stong, great dribbling, brilliant passes... and he is only 19!
Think of it, Holtby/Draxler + Dembele... it's a marvelous middlefield.

About the rumoirs about Higuain - I think he has wonderful values. He is alot more better than Defoe or Adebayor, he is fast, and he is a scorer. Last season (11/12) he scored over 20 league goals, and we need something like that at Spurs.

He's not that fast, he doesn't run the line well.

Holtby has been pretty meh so far. I loved his touches early on but he really hasn't made that massive impact, he deserves time though. Plus Lennon needs to stay, he has been HUGE this season

Draxler is a middlefielder, he doesn't have to have qulities of a winger (high speed).
He is probably one of the best young middlefielders there are right now.

Holtby to my opinion is just great. His match against Inter was excellent, he and Dembele just cut through Inter's defense time after time, but there wasn't any striker (Adebayor is aweful) who will get the last pass and put the ball in the net.
Holybu is probably one of the best players Spurs bought. Him and Sigurdsson is a great middlefield, and with a good striker, we can score alot more.

Agreed. I keep thinking he will get there with time. The memory of early season Siggy, Dempsey, and even Dawsome.

As a RM fan, I'm curious: Would yall be okay with Bale coming here, as opposed to going somewhere else? We really want him (I do at least).

i think i can speak for most, if not all of us, in saying that:

    1) we want him to stay at spurs

    2) if he must go, we'd prefer it away from england.

that's simple enough. but that brings us to the question of 'who will be able to afford that absurd price that mr levy will require?' madrid? barca? can one of the italian giants, like milan or juve? would munich splash that kind of cash? you might find that some spurs fans might have preferences regarding the various behemoths who might come in for him ... but nothing like consensus. the closest you'll come to consensus would be something like, 'thanks and good luck, wherever it is'.

whatever one's preference, it will be a very, very distant second to staying at tottenham; so spurs fans lining up to cheer him on at madrid or anywhere else doesn't seem likely - to my thinking, anyway.

obviously, he'd get a warm welcome back at the lane*, though, whenever meet you in the CL semis.

*assuming he doesn't make a tit of himself on the way out, i.e., berbatov and (to a lesser extent) modric.

Haha. Thanks for the considerate reply. I just hope he comes here and not Barca. I've been in love with Modric as of late. Awesome performances. I hope to see yall in the CL semis next season too!

I'd be ok with him going to Juve. Assuming he was leaving, of course.

Honestly if he must leave I want him to go to PSG or another team that is famous for overpaying for players. I doubt he would stay in England though, he has a lot of respect and love for Spurs and the only reason he would leave us is to play abroad (he has said it)

If Bale stays next season, do you guys think he should be moulded into a FW/ST like CR7 was before he left England. They both have similar qualities and the rewards could be huge.

he's already doing what Ronaldo was, roaming 2nd striker...

i'd rather see him as a false 9 in a 4-3-3 system since our strikers might as well not exist

    next season i want:
    --Sigurdsson-----Bale-----Lennon--
    ------------------Dembele--------------
    ------------Sandro------Parker--------

Yep, that is exactly what I was talking about. Bale as the main man and the main focus. Playing higher up the pitch than everyone else. It could work beautifully.

yea but striker vs false 9 are very diff positions. in my set up you would rely heavily on Lennon and Sigurdsson pinching in as forwards as Bale collects the ball a tad deeper than a true forward.

Honestly tho Id rather have him stay in that middle freedom role and for us to sign a couple world class strikers... (that statement could've been applied in any part of the last 3 years :( )

If you didnt buy those world-class strikers in the last 3 years, I doubt you are going to now...unless you sell Bale, which is unthinkable!!

plus Higauin is slow and not what we need at all, especially in AVB's system. We need a fast and versatile forward that can move with our lads, not slow them down. Levy should pony up for Neymar ;) :p
