Marin's arrival (on loan) from Chelsea is official. http://m.firenzeviola.it/primo-piano/ufficiale-il-chelsea-cede-marin-in-prestito-ai-viola-162395
We do have a buyout option in Marin. http://m.firenzeviola.it/news/marin-domani-alle-1230-la-presentazione-162401
According to this article, we're making a bid for Benjamin Stambouli, a defensive mid from Montpellier. I've actually never heard of this guy. Anyone have news on whether he's good? http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.co...to-make-benjamin-stambouli-offer-imminently/?
http://www.football-italia.net/54612/fiorentina-set-cuadrado-deadline So now they're saying that Saturday is the deadline for a deal for Cuadrado. I thought today was supposed to be the deadline (and that was only after I heard a day last week was supposed to be the deadline). Don't like how we keep moving the goalposts here. Still looks like it's between Barca and ManU, though I think Barca picked up someone already for the spot they would play Cuadrado, and the people running ManU seem to be really bad at making deals for players (they get linked with lots of players the past few windows but don't seem to be able to get anyone). Us continuing to push back the deadline though makes it look like we're continuing to give them the chance to close.
They bought some average (going by football manager!) right back who will come in next year. Man Utd are still most likely, but their new wing-back system suits Rafael and Valencia I think. Please stay Cuadrado!
Hope we seal Stambouli for the DM position. I mean, where would you rather live, Florence or Swansea...
Gomez said last week that he is good friends with Khedira and had pitched our club to him. How good is he?
He's good. I tend to catch most madrid games and whenever I see him play, I notice he likes to push up to the final third. He does miss easy chances but it isn't his primary role. Decent passer and a good DM. His biggest quality I would say is his strength.
According to an article from this morning, we've strengthened our stance to keep Cuadrado. The only way he would get sold is if the offer was serious enough ($$$) and approved by the big boys. Cuadrado doesn't have much say.
I read that article, too. I don't think it really is saying too much. It was always the case that we would only sell if it was a really big offer and we approved it. Sounded to me more like a negotiation stance. It'd be different if they said they were taking him off of the table entirely.
The rumours have lost some steam lately so I'm a lot more optimistic that we'll be keeping him. Would love to see the Khedira transfer, he would be a great addition. All in all, we've done good this transfer window, no one significant out and managed to bring in reinforcements
I'm one of those, though I don't underrate him. I just don't know. Wikipedia says he's a dm but, in the handful of times I have seen him, he seems to play pretty advanced and that ties in really well to what @MutuILFenomeno said.
