Nuno's been gradually weeding out players from an initial group of 29 players. 7 players cut already. I wonder if he plans on buying another striker to join Andre Silva and Aboubakar. I thought that was obvious when he called up a guy from Korea for pre-season training only to tell him a couple of days later that he is no longer needed and put him on the flight back to Korea.
but common practice in portugal. sign a bazillion players on cheap & hope one works out for big profit later (or constantly send them out on loan til they can get good value in return for the player).
Yup. Four year contract for a player who got his teams relegated from La Liga two years in a row. (Cordoba 2014-15; Rayo 2015-16) Benefit of being an EU player.
Makes perfect sense. Even if Suk were as good as his competition, why would a manager want to select him for preseason matches when he won't be available for selection for the first several weeks of the season? He needs to build chemistry among the team members through these preseason matches, because there are no other opportunities to test them before they must play important matches. One shouldn't have to state things so obvious.
It isn't about what Suk deserves, but rather what his team needs. It is rather pointless to play Suk in preseason matches now over players that will be available from the start of the season.
Damn Leo Bonatini just went to Al Hilal. He was a great brazilian talent who had been also linked with Porto. Good for SHJ at least.
Adrian Lopez, another CF for Porto who was loaned out to Villarreal last season, was unexpectedly called up to join FC Porto training camp in Germany last Sunday. He was expected to move back to La Liga for this coming season and was training with Porto B until now. Seems like Nuno wants to see him play before he makes his decision. http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/liga/24-07-2016/fc-porto-adrian-lopez-junta-se-ao-estagio-na-alemanha
Lets say Porto is not the organization they once were. For instance under Mourinho with som great fkcing players. I mean they won Uefa Cup 03 and CL 04. A QF in CL 09 ,also in 15 then the downfall started. To much unsecurity. Lets see if they can rise again. Hopefully with Suk involved.
As much as I would like to see Suk succeed in Porto, it would also be nice if he returned to Ajax (as a replacement to Milik who goes to Napoli) #justdreaming #donttakeitserious
Turkish and Korean media report that Porto and Trabzonspor are negotiating about Suk. I don't like the news but it seems quite serious. I hope it's again just rumors like that Gala and Bukarest rumors...
That's a great move for SHJ... Other than the purge that he's going to be living under in that country...
Seems like it's a done deal. Fortunately it's just a loan. "Suk will represent Trabzonspor next season. Negotiations between FC Porto and Turkish club, reported yesterday by The GAME, resulted in an agreement for the South Korean loan until 30 June 2017. The financial arguments thrown on the table were one of the reasons that convinced the Pinto Costa give "yes" to the Turks, who agreed to pay about 800,000 euros for the cession and yet all the advanced salary. The team of Trabzon (Northeastern Turkey) tried to include in the business a purchase option, in order to be able to hire the player at the end of the loan period, but FC Porto refused, since, due to youth Suk, prefer to assess their evolution before radically break the connection." (Google translation, source: http://www.ojogo.pt/futebol/1a-liga...mil-euros-aos-cofres-do-fc-porto-5314976.html) I don't quite get the last phrase. But I guess they want to see how he evolves that's why they didn't include a buy option.
