I just can't see City agreeing to it.

They don't want to give him to any competition, though.

The web is blowing up with confirmations that Keane has agreed to terms with the LA Galaxy - $8 or 9m over two years.

...and I scoffed when someone suggested the Union sign him after the Adu announcement.

Does seem like a good move for the MLS and apparently Keane has been keen on it for a while.

(Plus, The Gals are his boyhood club...)

Wow that just came out of nowhere. We've been getting reports that Leicester wanted him, that Wolves were planning a shock move and then I just saw the Bigsoccer bot update and I'm just floored right now.

Just wow. Big coup for LA Galaxy and MLS.

When the club was bidding for the Olympic stadium with AEG it was stated at the time this was a strategic alliance which may see Spurs players moving over there. This may well have played a big part in it.

Glad if we can get Robbie off the payroll, and glad for him if it means he will be playing. Plenty of Philly people of Irish heritage were dreaming of him coming here. He should be a big success at MLS level, like he was in Scotland.

If Robbie goes to LA for $9million I should probably go buy a lottery ticket.

I was under the impression that the $9m was going to be his salary, and not the fee we receive.

that's how I understood it, 3 million per year for 2 years and I've seen no mention of a transfer fee but then again the MLS is always tight lipped about transfer fees.

Damn. That'll learn me to not read the whole article.

Well, the fact that we're not paying someone to offload him for us is still damn good news, I guess.

    he's not just a mercenary ... he's a full-blown caaaaant.

it's a clear sign of our desperation to sign a certain type of striker that we're all excited by the prospect of having a player who's a proven clubhouse cancer. mancini's (supposedly) willing to pay half his salary just to keep him away from his first team. if we were to sign him, a time would surely come when we'll regret it. ok, maybe we won't regret it if we've gotten something tangible before it all goes bad ... but it will go bad, eventually, if we take him on.

fortunately, this is (supposedly) only a loan. i pray it stays that way.

... if it happens. which i pray it does. go figure.

I may actually hate Adebayor more than Giuseppe Rossi. And we all know how much I hate that bastard.

Adebayor is not a clubhouse cancer. Certainly no more so than Gallas, which turned out to be bollocks. The only player he has ever fallen out with was Bendtner, who is a complete cock like Nasri. Like all Arsenal players who have a big season and are in their 20's he wanted either a massive payrise or a move to a trophy winning club (preferably both). Considering how the senior players do that every year at Arsenal, is he truly a mercenary are just following everybody else's lead? Also if he does agree a move here, rather than say going to Russia / Middle East or refusing to move from City, is that what a mercenary would do?

At City he has been frozen out by Mancini as he is a Hughes signing. It is not as if he has behaved anything like Tevez or Balotelli, Mancini just wants his own boys upfront.

Not saying his attitude is ideal, but he's certainly not the bad boy Gooners have tried to paint him as. Same as Gallas - remember them all queing up to tell us what a cancer he was and how he would fall out with everybody? It's their club which is the cancer, a manager who encourages overpaid young brats to think they're amazing when they've won nothing.

He's 16 and was on trial in March, apparently the club let him run out with the CL flag in the Madrid home game.

I guess he'll be the youth replacement for Tom Carroll who will be moving up after this year.
