    Which one baffles the most?

    A) Whatever it was that Sting tried to do after the demise of The Police
    B) David Byrne's World music
    C) Mick Jones of the Clash does pasty, white English rap
    D) Cat Stevens is now Yusuf Islam
    E) Why Eric Clapton stopped rocking out for most of the last 30 yrs.

I would say Eddie Van Halen kicking out Michael Anthony as bassist and replacing him with his 16 year old son for no apparent reason qualifies for your list.

Elvis Costello doing Burt Bacarach songs.

Everything McCartney's done since The Beatles.

Paul Weller breaking up The Jam and doing bad Muzak-style "jazz" in Style Council.

I love Rei Momo. Easily my favorite of Byrne's work, and I'm a big Talking Heads fan.

Rei Momo is right here in my desk ready to play, so I guess you could say I like it too.

I'd say Neil Young - turning into Transformer Man

The Chris Gaines thing for sure

Willie Nelson putting out a Reggae Cd - we know the guy likes his weed, but what the hell is Countryman - bad shit.

Vanilla Ice - from rapper to Hardcore - Oh wait - he suck doing both of them :D

BTW - I like the David Byrne stuff - His work in Brazil was awesome.

Does simply going into music in the first place constitute a strange career move?

Kiss's horror movie. Their career was pretty horrid to begin with. But this was like a cherry on top of the turd.
