The DORA opens at 4pm. Take time off work and head on down for an early happy hour. It'll be hot and dry for, well, the majority of the game. "Scattered thunderstorms after midnight."
Get ready for Saturday's match with a very special Project Jukebox! Thursday night starting at 6:30 join the Nordecke Drum Corps and Capos to perfect some old chants and work on the new ones! Free beverages in the Nordecke Beer Garden & maybe a special guest or two from the Crew! The Nordecke gate opens at 6pm and parking is free in the North Lot of LDC!
I cant incur the wrath of the stupidhead mod, or else I get red carded faster than rafa marquez vs the US
Whether you're a Nordeckian or not, Project jukebox is a good time. And you don't even have to be vocal or bang a drum. The vibe of empty LDC is 180 degrees from the vibe of empty HCS. It's something to behold. Walk in, grab a (free) beverage, and just enjoy hanging out in the empty stadium with some Crew fans. Last time I was there I don't think I entered the bowl of the stadium once, and the time before that I just sat 10 rows above the entrance and drank a beer. But you didn't hear that from me.
Understood, my compatriot. I have such a clean record nearly everywhere in my life except for my warnings received panel on Bigsoccer. I read about the shindig in the Nordecke e-newsletter. I agree. The gathering looks like a good time.
I went to the first one this year, and it was in a rain storm. It was a good time. There are definitely some chants that I think need practice, even some old ones. Still hoping for an Eleanor Rigby - Darlington Nagbe chant.
No red cards, just listening to me p!ssing and moaning about huge numbers of bonus points for something that was likely to happen.
I can’t be there, but two thoughts: 1) can we bring back the “Here we go, here we go, here we goooooo” (John Philip Sousa) at the beginning of each half? (Really the only time that one works) 2)Downplaying the “Dale” chant? Stupid, lame, pointless!
Here We Go works anytime the team needs a boost. I Believe That We Will Win could stand to be heard more often.
I have to say... as beloved as Gyasi Zardes was, I was a little disppointed that the "Score Us A Goal" chant was immediately re-packaged for another player. But since that's apparently OK, I think it's time to get the old Dante Washington "Piano Man" song back for someone.
This may get laughed at because people already hate the C-R-E-W chant, but you can potentially make it better by speeding it up and having people clap once as each letter is said. It sounds very AO, but it might work.
I will not be taking this feedback to the appropriate folks. How dare you for even suggesting it. How. Dare. You.
The C-R-E-W chant is the only one that I speak up on and offer feedback for. In my opinion, there needs to be more than one person with a two-stick along each sideline. I know its difficult, logistically, to get 2 or 3 people along the sidelines, but that's what's needed. I'd even put a few on the east-side upper deck. From my vantage point, the problem with the C-R-E-W chant is that people don't know it's happening until it's happened 3 or 4 times, and by then it's already on the downswing.
I don't mind Dale, but it seems to be in the rotation more than others. It's simple, which leads to more participation.
There was an idea pitched a couple of weeks ago to divide the Nordecke into two halves: C & W. Because the far west reaches of the Nordecke has starting helping out with W duties anyway. To me, that's asking for disaster. The outer edges of the west side are pretty vocal - it's the club seats & suites in the middle that need a wake up call. And water is wet, film at 11.
