Now, before anyone jumps all over me, this is VERY speculative. And I apologize if anything has been posted in the past, couldn't find anything. Stephen McPhee, formerly of Port Vale, is currently with Beira Mar of the Portuguese SuperLiga, where he has scored 3 goals in 11 matches and has been one of the most impressive players for Beira Mar, and is currently being targeted (reportedly) by Liverpool. Here's the story : http://www.fansfc.com/liverpoolfootballclub/news.asp?newsid=132900 So here's the deal. His father is American, his mother Scottish. He appears to have been born in Scotland, then moved to Florida at an early age, where he lived until he was 11. He then bounced around a number of other countries. Here's the story in Portuguese (couldn't find anything in English): http://www.record.pt/noticia.asp?id=599391&idCanal=10 He apparently has one cap for Scotland's U-21's, none for the senior team (though that could change). I've read conflicting info regarding FIFA's new rules as far as switching countries is concerned, could someone shed some light on this? Again, I'm not saying that he'd be an answer up front, or whatever. Chances are he'd be just as likely, if not more likely, to get PT with Scotland as he would for us. Just trying to leave no stone unturned. Thanks.
