All three teams in the MISL Central Division are at 5-2. After tonight, one team will lead the Central and claim the best record in the MISL. St. Louis won at Kansas City, 7-6, last night with the game-winner coming with seven seconds left. The Storm defeated the Wave for the second time this year, 8-7, on Friday Night, but nearly let that one get away.
CURRENT STANDINGS: EAST: Philadelphia 5-2 Cleveland 3-3 Baltimore 2-6 CENTRAL: Chicago 5-2 Milwaukee 5-2 St. Louis 5-2 WEST: San Diego 3-5 Kansas City 1-3 Monterrey 0-4
GOAL: Steamers 1-0 Storm Susi takes a feed from Doran and gets the first goal at 1:19 in the first quarter.
GOAL: Steamers 2-1 Storm Waltman robbs Joe Reiniger, but Doran puts in the rebound. This might be a high-scoring game, tonight. Doran's 8th goal of the year.
GOAL: Steamers 3-2 Storm DiMaria gets his 4th goal of the year as he gets the ball off the boards and bang it home.
Doran with a goal and two assists already on the night. GOAL: Steamers 3-3 Storm David Schneider takes advantage of yet another defensive breakdown and St. Louis, despite all their possession, is letting the Storm in the game.
GOAL: Steamers 4-3 Storm Susi draws two defenders and Waltman away from a wide open Wescott and the Steamers are up again.
At this rate, both teams could reach double figures. St. Louis takes timeout to set up the set piece.
GOAL: Steamers 5-3 Storm Mike Apple heads in the 5th goal for St. Louis, and once again the Steamers are stellar on the restart.
GOAL: Steamers 5-4 Storm Rosenbrand scores on the counter after Waltman makes a crucial save. We're still in the first quarter and there are no multi-point goals anymore. There have actually been nine goals!
GOAL: Steamers 5-5 Storm Morad maintains his form from Friday night and gets the equalizer. Decu on the assist. Steamers experiencing difficulties with the counterattack. Reason #74,234 why two-goal leads do not mean much in the MISL.
END OF FIRST QUARTER: St. Louis Steamers 5-5 Chicago Storm I wonder if this is on KPLR over there? Steamers take the lead four times, and the Storm have tied it four times. We could end up with a team handball score here!
YELLOW CARD: After the 5th St. Louis goal, Waltman earned a five-minute penalty for misconduct. Richey in goal for the Storm while Waltman serves the penalty.
Reminds me of that game in Milwaukee where there were 14 goals in the first three quarters, but none until the last minute of the fourth quarter. Shots were 11-7 in the Steamers' favor in the first quarter.
Waltman's penalty is over, but Richey is still in goal. GOAL: Steamers 6-5 Storm Once again, the Steamers score on the restart. This time, it is Nate Houser at 5:15 in the second quarter.
