As far as I can remember, I've never seen a roach in Dallas. I think it's just Houston with all the dirtyness and the humidity and rain. They just seem to migrate indoors when we get a lot of rain here on the gulf coast. But I think you'd be safe in Dallas. Dallas is actually really nice. If I end up living in Texas forever, I'd either be in Dallas or Austin. There's not so much of the stereotypical Texas characteristics in Dallas.
From watching the Simple Life Road Trip, I think I know what you mean about Stereotypical Texas Characteristics, but incase I am mistaken tell me what these characteristics are.
I'll try my best, though is the new Frisco stadium being nicknamed the Oven or the Pizza Box? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Please, please, please DO NOT base your perceptions of Americans cities, towns, states, people, etc on Simple Life. That's television put together for entertainment. It's far from the everyday reality of life.
Pizza Hut Park. I know, I laughed so loud when they announced it at the FC DAllas/LA game. I got some funny looks, but honestly, that is the worst name I have ever heard.
Did The Simple Life come to Texas? I don't think it did, or else I might have missed that episode. No the Stereotypical Texas Characteristics I was talking about are just things people think of all of Texas. You know, we all ride horses to work, everyone carries 3 guns in their vehicle, which is usually a big ole 4x4 truck, everyone here agrees with Dubya (excuse me while I retch), etc etc. Not saying that there aren't alot of people driving around with guns in their 4x4 truck, or that this state is mostly for Dubya (again, watch me retch), but Texas does get stereotyped alot. In the big cities there is actually alot of diversity and culture. It's just when you are riding down dirt country roads that the hick Texan comes out to greet you. Everything is bigger down here though. The roaches attest to that. I love Texas though. Like I said, I'll leave Houston, but I'd like to stay in Dallas or Austin.
