    QUAKES FANS!

Just thought I'd say hi. Haven't been to this board in ages until I found time for the Rapids game via MLs radio the other night. Still following SJ though (the best I can from over here) and all of this relocation/liquidisation stuff is utter garbage.

    Club America? Houston? ASTRODOME!?

I think you should all buy 10 bricks each and build a 'soccer specific' on Dayak's farm. I bet no-one had thought of that yet!
(I know its not that simple, btw)

    So yeah, anyways........

    GOOOOOOOOOOOO QUAKES!

Luther Vandross, age 54, has died.

Gosh, I love so much of his romantic R&B.

    What a terrible loss.

    RIP.

'Obie' Benson, of the Four Tops died today as well. He was only 69.

Being from the greater Detroit area and growing up side by side with Motown, I know this is a great loss.

The Four Tops' last performance was on David Letterman this past April.

    RIP.

I can't even tell you how many times in my lifetime I've seen the Four Tops. There used to be a place called the Palace right down the street from my parent's house in Michigan that, during the 80-early 90's, you could see one of a variety of older Motown groups any day of the week.

It was so cool. I could be a back-up dancer for any one of them. I've got that Motown synchronized dancing thing down pat! :D

    First page.

    Anyone watching Live 8?

This is almost unwatchable, so I'm going outside. They ********ing let bands play, then start talking over them about half the time.

Just cut off Linkin Park in the middle of a song. Not that that's so bad, but this broadcast style sucks. I guess the MTV/VH1 broadcasts are really just ads for the pay downloads or something. (Of course, the pay downloads are for a good cause, and that's how I'll donate.)

I've been watching Live 8 online and on TV all morning. *yawns*

I don't like the MTV/VH1 coverage just for the fact that they do cut off halfway through their songs. The online coverage is very good though.

I'm watching online and picking what I want to watch. Jay-Z and Linkin Park was pretty good with the mash ups.

My wife likes them, so we picked up the Jay-Z/LP mashup CD/DVD when it came out a few months ago. After first listen, the CD kinda gets old, but the concert on the DVD is pretty good. VH1 actually showed "Jigga What/Faint" and "Numb/Encore."

    Also looking forward to Floyd.

Online is just airing a live feed with nothing else of all the shows. Shows all the set up and crap in between acts, riveting stuff.

Their coverage isn't that Live8 is happening, their coverage is that they're covering Live8. I got absolutely no sense of the event and gave up within minutes.

    Yeah totally.

This has been an awesome night/day for music. The online coverage where you can pick who you want to see is fabulous.

Hot damn. I was just watching the top 25 moments of MLS history at mlsnet for the first time.

Whatcha think is gonna be #1?

    1) Donovan's welcome back to Spartan (yea right like they'd make this #1)
    or
    2) The greatest comeback in MLS history - SJ vs LA 11/9/03 (if this doesn't make it, then a serious crime will have been committed)
    or
    3) The other miraculous comeback of San Jose of the owner/stadium variety.

I think Balboa's bicycle kick deserves a much higher rating than 18?!?!?! That goal was just the epitome of soccer.

    God, I LOVE this game.
    :D
