Well, you could always file a Freedom of Information request to the DCSEC and/or the DC City Council for all memos/documents relating to the construction of a new soccer stadium... Let's just say I know someone who did that in the past to get the details of DCU's lease agreement at RFK and had phone calls from SZack and Barry Goldwater very, very soon after the request was filed.
don't knock that place cuz they have some tasty food!!! some of the people who hang around that little strip of stores there could certainly be used to "persuade" some important people to give DCU a better deal as well!
That's exactly what I was just thinking... what businesses? Guy selling t-shirts and soda from his cart?
Well, some guys are operating a major league baseball franchise from a bunch of trailers in the parking lot. Let's make them pay for our stadium!
on thursday night is United's annual Business Partner Reception and if past experience is anything to go by, if there is any news about the stadium Kevin will relay it then. The 2007 target date was announced last February at the last one as well as some artist mock ups of the proposed stadium.
Great idea! They weaseled out of paying for their stadium, but get to foot the bill for another. Brilliantly ironic.
