Firehouse Discussion: New News Coming SOON

The other thread is 20 pages long so I figured a new one was in order anyway.

There should be some announcement coming up very soon. The deadline was Monday.

Actually I doubt we will hear anything for at least a couple weeks.

No, I would bet on something rather important that everyone will be interested in coming to light sooner than that.

I've seen it said that something will be announced today. This was on the Internet, so it MUST be true. :)

I doubt we would hear anything final this soon after the deadline, so it may be that one or more of the candidates withdrew. Or that all the candidates got their proposals in.

Or that Wesley Clark is making a late entry into the SSS race.

    Later,

"We interrupt with this special report: The Chicago Fire under the leadership of Gen. Clark have made a beachhead on Northerly Island, and declared themselves an independent nation, with intent to build a stadium and casino complex with adjoining small craft airport and harbor. Via live videoconference, Mayor Richard Daley asked General Clark politely to step aside for the city to recliam the island, and the General merely replided with an obscene gesture. As our cameras are not allowed near the site, all our reporters have been able to ascertain is rythmic chanting and loud bass dumming that can be heard from the island at this time, and has been constant since the takeover. More at 10"

They will review over the next 30-60 days so no nothing really new will be announced soon. We knew that the deadline was yesterday and that most likely the four communities would respond in time.

    Stadium Discussion: New News Coming

It makes a lot of sense. All the soccer press will be there, so it will get some national ink. Not only that, I am sure that AEG and the club wants to make rock solid sure that a stadium deal makes them money and will see the day of groundbreaking.

    From the Daily Southtown:
And the Bridgeview site is on Harlem between 75th and 79th.

There's scuttlebut on the location of the Chicago site, but we're not talking about it.

Show-off. We all know there's a real location, but why post this otherwise if you aren't going to spill the beans?

I remember reading something on the general location of the chicago site. The area sounded plausible because daley has been wanting to put a staduim there for quite some time.
