9 - Philipp #Max (@FCA_World) provided 9 assists in the #Bundesliga 2017-18 - more than any other player in the top 5 leagues this season. Extraordinary. #FCASCF pic.twitter.com/HJhCk0ILbd— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) December 16, 2017
Christian Günter with a goal today. After the core LB choices of Hector, Max, Halstenberg, and Plattenhardt, maybe Günter could form a secondary category of options with Nico Schulz. Both are still in their early-mid 20's. Hopefully Jannes Horn, Maxi Mittelstädt, Gian-Luca Itter and Niklas Beste can further emerge in a couple years.
Interview with Maxi Mittelstädt: http://www.herthabsc.de/de/profis/i...18/page/14010--10276-10276-.html#.WjZTr8uvDqA
Philipp Max should of had 2 assists against Freiburg, but Gregoritsch missed a sitter on one of the chances from close range.
It's interesting that Phillip Max takes all the corners for Augsburg (at least the games I've seen him in). How many of his assists come from open play?
After leaving Schalke, Philipp Max spent time in 2BL with Karlsruher before breaking through with Augsburg. If Felix Passlack is still not able to establish himself among the first team of Hoffenheim next season when his loan expires, then I think he could benefit from taking a similar route as Max did for development.
Kicker has rated Philipp Max as the second best BL fullback in the Hinrunde. The complete rankings are released tomorrow, but I'm assuming the top spot goes to Kimmich. Thomas Berthold also provides commentary, as he considers Max to be a World Cup candidate. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...el_philipp-max-startet-durch-auf-platz-2.html

Both LB's Gerrit Holtmann (Mainz) and Christian Günter (Freiburg) had an assist for their respective clubs today.
Tim Leibold is hoping to make promotion into the first division with FCN, but is also keeping his future open. Considering the connection with past players such as Teuchert, Burgstaller, and Schöpf, there's also some speculation in linking him possibly with Schalke. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...euchert-bald-wieder-heidel-aeussert-sich.html
Konstantin Rausch is expected to complete his medical tomorrow ahead of his transfer to Dynamo Moscow. I wonder if Jonas Hector will move back to playing LB fulltime for Köln. Or if Jannes Horn will get a chance to step up for that position more consistently.
According to reports, AS Roma had made an inquiry for Lukas Klostermann. https://www.transfermarkt.de/l-klos...m/154/thread_id/1032392/page/1#anchor_2436171
Looks like a serious knee injury for Marcel Halstenberg. Exact diagnosis is still to be released, but it could be end of the season for him if it is ligament related. http://www.90min.de/posts/5956843-verletzung-im-training-marcel-halstenberg-droht-das-saisonaus
Diagnosis for Halstenberg has been confirmed, as a ruptured ACL. He will miss the remainder of the season. I guess an option for RB Leipzig would be trying Klostermann as LB during this time. https://www.transfermarkt.de/saison...-zieht-sich-kreuzbandriss-zu/view/news/298853
looks like they will buy some LBs from Portugal or Scandanavia ..... Leipzig are very annoying, basically most of their squad are from overseas
Max’s had a great season so far, if he continues like this he deserves a call from Löw! How would you rate him defensively though?
