Some positive news re Kane and Son who could return before the end of the season. By then it might be too late to salvage anything. Sessegnon is out (not that Jose would play him). Lamela is not training with the team but will be available to come off the bench.
Not specific to this match, but how much trouble is Dele in, potentially, from whatever shit he put out on social media?
He has until March 5th to reply to or accept the charge. He could be fined or suspended one game, which is possible considering Silva got a similar ban for City earlier in the season. It is strange that it has taken so long for the charge to be formalized, but this is the PL, which at times is a real gong show.
Look at it this way - we will play like shit - the only question is will we play like shit and win or will we play like shit and lose? The last game where we actually outplayed a team over the 90 minutes was the Burnley game.
Oops, got the time conversion wrong. Looking good at halftime. Why was Lamela not training? What is Dele's charge?
That was shit. Tanganga with an attempted foul on Traoré, and Traore just ran right over him. And now a missed yellow on Wolves took out Aurier.
There is only one player with desire out there for Spurs - Lo Celso. He can't do everything, and subsiquently Wolves score. Mind, the calls have also been favoring Wolves.
What Mourinho is sacked, anybody will be an interesting option. Hell, at this point I'd take Lasso over Mourinho.
We played with effectively seven midfielders today and three "defenders". Are Vertonghen and Toby injured? Is Parrott really so unready for Premier League football that he couldn't have started today?
This is what 15 million pound a year gets you, the most brilliant manager in the history of football. Brilliant decision #1: starting Eric Dier ahead of Alderweireld and Ndombele. Brilliant decision #2: team is trailing by a goal, let's bring on Gedson Fernandes. Brilliant decision #3: team is trailing by a goal, let's bring on our only striker in stoppage time. But what's that you say? Jose Mourinho is a brilliant defensive coach? Really? Then why is our defense still shite when he's had 3 months to work with them? I'm sorry, the guy is the biggest poser in football. Thank god we have 40 points already or we would be in danger of relegation.
Ah, that wonderful time of the year, when MLS and EPL are both playing, and I'm able to get kicked in the nuts TWICE in a weekend.
My wish list: Julian Nagelsmann Brendan Rogers Nuno Rafa Benitez Chris Wilder Any of those are (and would have been) better options than Jose and would not cost nearly as much.
Wilder is unacceptable. Not kosher. Pure pork. Sheffield United filth. As bad as Colin Wanker. Totally agree with Benitez, though. I can't help but feel we'd be in a rather better place right now if we'd brought him in.
I see the Wednesday in you is ever so subtly coming out, but then by the same logic you should feel the same way about Jose as a Chelsea man (actually, I would not be surprised if Abramovich were paying part of his salary).
Lamela seems to be permanently injured so he can't train. The best we can get out of him is 20-25 minutes coming off the bench. Add our medical anf fitness staff to the long list of things that have gone to shite at the club.
Crikey, I never wanted Jose in at Spurs, for not only the smell of Chelsea (who I loathe far more than United), but for his overall doucheiness in general. My pre-Spurs anti-Mourinho body of work is quite robust. But if we should bring Wilder in, I'd sure-as-hell wish him success. I just hope it never comes to that.
Don't get me wrong, Mourinho pre 2015-16 was the best in the business, but since that last season at Chelsea when he got the sack, he has been rubbish. His demise has coincided with the emergence of the Klopp-style pressing game. He, like Wenger before him, has not adapted to the evolution of the game.
A Spurs fan who works with me was talking up Mourinho. I told him that Mourinho will not last through next season, he disagreed and believed he will bring success. I offered to make a bet, but he wasn't that confident.
