Spurs continue their march towards oblivion with a home FA Cup tie against bottom side Norwich on the back of 3 consecutive losses. After 3 months in charge, Jose Mourinho has yet to improve a defense that continues to leak oil (if anything, our defensive play has gotten worse under the Portuguese), which makes me wonder what he and his coaching staff are doing on the training ground. The injury news keeps getting worse, with Hugo Lloris (groin) joining Kane, Son and Sissoko on the sidelines with no word as to the status of the chronically-injured Erik Lamela. Ryan Sessegnon is back in training and I would love to see him on the left of an attacking 3, but that is wishful thinking with the current manager, who would rather play a back 5 or 6. It will be interesting to see what kind of side Daniel Farke puts out with the Canaries now within striking distance of safety following their surprise victory over Leicester last Friday. Regardless, this will be a difficult tie, considering they outplayed us in the 2 league fixtures.
well … we can't very well win this Cup without winning this tie, can we? ergo, I am happy to predict nothing worse than a draw.
Here are the teams: Us Vorm, Aurier, Dier, Sanchez, Vertonghen (c), Winks, Skipp, Lo Celso, Dele, Bergwijn, Lucas. Substitutes: Gazzaniga, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Ndombele, Gedson, Lamela, Parrott. Them Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Godfrey, Lewis, Trybull, Vrancic, Buendía, Rupp, Cantwell, Drmic Substitutes: Stiepermann, Pukki, McLean, Duda, Tettey, McGovern
Great atmosphere in the ground, 9,000 fans have invaded from East Anglia (this is their shortest geographical trip in the PL).
From the resulting free kick from Lo Celso, Krul loses the flight of the ball and Super Jan heads in his 2nd goal of the season.
Another shot comes in and this time Vorm misplays it but fortunately for him the ball spins back to the keeper instead of into the goal. Suddenly Norwich have come to life.
