Harry Kane's ankle injury will bring an end to his run of 71 consecutive league starts for Tottenham. Danny Rose is a doubt because of a hamstring problem, while Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier will be assessed after they both suffered cramp last weekend
There's an article on espnfc.com* claiming that Poch has stated that a second scan has revealed Kane's injury as less severe than originally expected. Things like "much, much better" and "very, very happy" being said, though no official timeline for his return is given. Certainly made to sound much less than the original eight weeks, though. Frankly, I think he'd benefit from more than a couple weeks' rest. Still good news, though. *sorry, but I can't link it from this device.
update on kane (possibly very positive news), on another note 3 other senior squad members (besides sissoko) will miss the moscow cl game http://www.espnfc.co.uk/tottenham-h...r-than-tottenham-expected-mauricio-pochettino
Dembele hurt again. Will be tested Friday to see how bad it is. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...am-hotspur-mousa-dembele-injury-training-foot

The injuries are really piling up - Alli, Davies, and apparently something happened to Lamela, too. Starting to worry a bit. I wonder if we will be looking for reinforcements in January.
Update on the Lamela injury. Sounds like he'll be out for a good while longer. http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/sport/foot..._flies_to_rome_to_continue_recovery_1_4839872
That's sort of a good news / bad news situation. Obviously bad he's out, but good that he has this option open to him. He probably just has a craving for good pizza...
It doesn't look good for Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur who says there is concern the defender suffered serious ligament damage against West Brom on Saturday...
i guess with the new scheme 3-4-3 davies would be more likely replacement, but of course i'd count on wimmer as well
2 months https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/17/tottenham-jan-vertonghen-ankle-injury Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen facing up to two months out with ankle injury • Vertonghen damaged ligaments in left ankle against West Brom • Defender’s place in Spurs team may go to Kevin Wimmer or Ben Davies
Bad news re Lamela. I wonder if surgery of some sort will be needed? Hard to speculate, even, since the medical info out of Europe is so vague (unlike USA, where they pretty much tell you exactly what ligament, tendon or orifice is causing the problem). http://www.skysports.com/football/n...enham-are-concerned-about-erik-lamelas-injury
possible good news Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hopes Jan Vertonghen's absence with an ankle injury may be shorter than the two months first feared and says: "We don't want to set the time limit. When your mind is positive it's easier to recover. He doesn't require surgery. "Jan is ok, he's very positive. We're pushing him a lot. We expect six weeks, less than at first."
TEAM NEWS: "Toby, Danny (knee) & HKane (groin) are out. We don't want to take any risks but they'll hopefully be available for Tuesday." "JanVertonghen is much better but probably 3-4 weeks more. ErikLamela will come back training with us tomorrow & we'll assess him again." http://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnatio...weireld-vertonghen-lamela-kane-fa-cup-wycombe
