Definitely how I saw it. Wake Forest dominated possession for long stretches of the first half. New Mexico played the better second half and had the better of scoring chances for the game.

    Wake Forest 2
    Mars Hill 0
Wake started all of their ususal nonstarters except for two field players that rotated in for 20 minute runs. Also, Akira played first half and Austin played second half in goal. Wake looked pretty sharp and nice to see some of the players get a 90 minute run and see how good their second team really is. Very impressive.

    Wake Forest 2
    UNC Chapel Hill 0

Goals by Cody and Corben. Wake had many more near misses and chances, UNC was dangerous off several corners. Wake looked pretty sharp with the starters playing the entire game. Final game for them in Creighton, then on to the fall season, can't wait.

Will be a tough go for all the incoming freshman trying to break into the senior laden starting team, but that is why they go at it during practice.

    Wake Forest 1 – New Mexico 1
    WFU: Lyle Adams
    UNM: Justin Davis

Wake looked pretty rough Friday night against New Mexico. They dominated possession for most of the first half, but didn’t generate many good scoring opportunities out of that possession. The final ball wasn’t there. Lone Wake goal came off an individual effort by Lyle Adams and some poor Lobo defending. Ball by Franks played down the left side that Adams collected before turning, splitting two defenders just inside the 18 and burying the ball near post.

Second half was dominated by New Mexico, who for the game had a big advantage in scoring opportunities. UNM goal came as a result off a Wake turnover in their defensive third. Turnover, missed tackle by Cronin and a ball played behind Opara led to a 1v1 that Davis hit to the far post, beating a sprawling Fitzgerald. Some good team defending by Wake kept it a 1-1 game.

New Mexico made maybe one sub while Wake played about 14 with Arnoux, da Luz and Wenzel coming off the bench. Bone started on the right, Lahoud and Cronin centrally and Lichtfuss in the back.

    UIC 0 - Chicago Fire 0

First half Chicago plays most of their starters including Blanco, Mapp, Frankowski, Segares, Pause, etc.
    Noble in Goal.

UIC players ordered to not go after Blanco or Frankowski.
Best chance of the half comes from a Dundjer free from 30 yards, Noble makes a big time save to keep it out.
Second half brings most of the second team out for the Fire with Conde, UIC is pretty much out of gas, but the Fire can't score, Bubonja makes some great saves.
All in all a good night of soccer, played for charity, $7500 raised for America Scores, about 2000 people on hand at Flames Field.
Just interesting that a pro team, three games into their season, fails to finish off a college team that isn't match fit.

Wake was the better team against Creighton. Wake keeper cannot distribute worth a darn and gave Creighton their first goal. Wake dominated possession and scoring chances throughout the game. Wake deserved a better result but it is only spring.

Most of the game was played in the middle third of the field. Each team controlled the game when they had the wind on their back. Neither team did much to threaten in the final third. I doubt that we will see any stats since it was a spring game but I don't think that either team generated alot of shots. The back four of Creighton did a great job in keeping Wake out of the final third. It was a spring game so neither team really connected alot passes in the final third. Wake did a nice job of possession in the middle of the field but it usually broke down when they pushed forward.

Fun game to watch. Both teams came to play. The GK for Wake does need to improve on his distribution - it cost his team one goal and created some other problems.

If I recall, the Creighton keeper had to come up big on a number occasions. Wake got in behind often. I think it was Wake who did a good job of keeping Creighton from getting behind their back four. I do agree that bpth teams did not generate a lot of shots, but the Jay keeper had to intercept more than 3 1v1's.
