theyve said they would do just that, in the past. Who knows though, might have to buy the current jersey...? I saw them pressing numbers (and names perhaps) during the year end close out sale they had in December. Smelled like melted Crayons.
I just saw Collin, I don't like the big Leaf. I do like the money. EDIT: this post sounds like a killjoy, when really, this is a big day. Heck, we shrug off Lance Armstrong on a Wednesday, and announce this on Thursday. Not too shabby for a bunch of soon to be MLS relocated or contracted, KC Wizard nomads.
I work for Ivy Funds so if anyone has any questions about the company, I would be happy to answer them.

I don't mean to be a design snob, but the leaf logo below the "Ivy Funds" script looks bad. It should be to the side, like the mock ups in this thread. Also, the placement is a bit high, and slightly interferes with the crest. I won't complain about the money though.
Contact your local Waddell & Reed Advisors office. I'm really surprised they did that. We are pretty hardcore about our logos and not modifying them.
isnt Ivy Funds from Iowa, or at least was started there? How the heck does a mutual fund company every really become "local" anyways? I like the idea of ivy incorporated into a mutual fund co name. Its smart.
I was not thrilled with the central placement of the logo when I first saw it. This post changed my mind! I am a little bummed that we have to keep waiting to see the new home jersey; and no mention of a third, despite Robb's #ThinkSilver tweet on Sunday, though perhaps he only had trophies in mind.
Ivy Funds was originally in Florida. It was purchased by Waddell & Reed around 2000, I think. So, from its W&R connection, it is very local. W&R have been in business since 1937 in the Kansas City area.
Waddell & Reed is the parent company of Ivy Funds and W&R opened right here in downtown KC in 1937. It was one of the first mutual fund companies in the world and actually helped invent mutual funds in 1940. W&R purchased Ivy Funds which had been passed around to a few different companies in the 90s. It is a local company because it is headquartered at our campus at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Lamar in Shawnee. 1100 Kansas Citians work here. Our fund management works (our trading floor) here in KC versus NY like a lot of companies so it is 100% Kansas City company.
I'm just glad they got the deal done and announced. Now they can concentrate on using the money to help build a championship soccer team.
I had to look it up to verify but it was a Florida company and actually a subsidiary of a Toronto based company.
Supporters miss nothing. Per Mike's twitter: Chad Reynolds @TheChad_KC @sportslogosnet @KyleR it's moving down. that was a quick-turn prototype for release this week. Placement moves about an inch "south" Retweeted by Mike Kuhn
Besler just retweeted this photo. I really hope they do go with an indigo logo on the primary. https://twitter.com/joshfey/status/291990923175424000/photo/1
It would surprise me if we allow it. But, I am also surprised about us allowing them to move the crest below the name. We've always been pretty hard core about not changing anything about the logos including color.
I put together a list of all the current jersey sponsorships and the deals in place for comparison purposes if you're interested. http://www.downthebyline.com/2013/01/sporting-announce-sponsorship-deal-with.html
Funny that no one seems to have noted that the photo with Zusi and Besler has the crest to side of the name and the name shifted south.
I like that the negative space in the ivy funds logo appears to be a transparent view-through on both shirts.
For those looking to have the sponsors logo printed on the away kit, im sure the sponsor will provide free screen prints at the sporting park and retailers. This mostly likely will not be the same for the old home kits. We will know more as we move closer to kickoff
