    Jonathan Silva will be out for several weeks. Acuña and Doumbia out as well, but Mathieu might play.
    Coates out on 3 YC. Exxpect Pinto and Mathieu CBs partnership

    I read that former Sporting player, Andre Martins, will miss his return to Alvalade this Wednesday

    Our most important match of the group and the one that matters most - need to secure 3rd place at our home. Anything else is a bonus.

    Starting XI:

    Patrício;
    Piccini, André Pinto, Mathieu, Fábio Coentrão;
    William, Battaglia; Gelson Martins, Bruno Fernandes,
    Bruno César; Bas Dost

    I'm guessing Bruno Cesar gonna play in Acuna's place rather than CAM

    WTH William with a yellow - he obviously slipped it wasn't intentional

    And now Olympiakos player with a slide tackle and just a warning.........

    We’ve dominated. It’s such a shame that we didn’t win one of our games against juve, as it will come down to head to head and even though we may not beat Barca.. juve will definitely beat this awful Olympiakos team

    They're sad because Buffon missed the world cup so they made a pact to not beat Juve

    My worry would actually be Newcastle. Sounds unusual but that’s where I live here in England and there were lots of rumours in the summer and previous transfer window that they were sniffing around

    Theyre now on the verge of a big takeover that would leave them with lots of cash to splash about

    Dost has been freakin fantastic for Sporting. We've got a shot against Barca, a long one, but there is hope.

    Those late goals against still bothers me. Every game . Definitely the team's achille.

    It's what happens when you sub off defenders late in a game. Typically you shouldn't mess with the defense unless there's an injury or they're playing horrible

    I have to say Piccini had an excellent game yesterday. What a performance and hats off to JJ, he's went from mediocre to stellar over the course of 2-3 months. Great depth at RB position with him and Ristovski.

    Having healthy competition also likely helps.

    Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still sh*t the bed against Braga and are up for a huge fight with Porto and Benfica to win the league. I won't give JJ any definitive final credit until he wins the league. Straight up. We have the team, get it done.

    I think he just means hats off for getting piccini from average to excellent in a few months, not for anything else

    Which I'm ok with in this case since Olympiakos sucks and since Mathieu is fresh off an injury as well.

    Our LB situation is worrisome. We need to make a move in the transfer window again. For the love of god, NO Mitchell Van Dijks.

    Ahhh yes. Piccini was our best player yesterday. Him and Ristovski have shored that side up wonderfully.
