I would venture even the most liberal of rec programs give coaches SOME level of flexibility in adjusting minimum playing time for things like missed practices, disrespect to coaches and teammates, and the like.
You have to know to ask. Most coaches assume the rules are cast in stone. I didn't know it last season. I only know it now since I'm on the board and talking to all the old salts. The other thing is that some coaches will use it to abuse the system. I need this win, so I'll sit my daisy-picker down.
