I think the rules of LFP apply.
    I think it's four.
I don't think there are any quotas, though the restrictions for players without an EU passport mean there will be a majority of communitary players.
They should contact the team, I think.

It's been a while since I updated this thread...

Tomorrow there's a really interesting game with the two main title contenders facing each other. Barcelona is the sensation of the season having won all 13 games so far, usually with impressive scores (they have scored 50 goals and conceded just 4, none in the past 7 games), while Athletic Bilbao isn't winning so brilliantly, with 35 goals so far, but they have only conceded a tie against Sporting.

Espanyol is dragging an unsteady start, but is now doing as well as Barcelona and Athletic; they have won the last 7 games with a 39-2 goal average. The match against Barcelona on December 16 will be crucial. On the other hand, Rayo Vallecano has lost much potential, and after losing all three matches against the other contenders (3-2 to Barcelona, 2-3 to Athletic, 4-0 to Espanyol) and losing 4 points to L'Estartit and Sporting Huelva, they don't really look like a title contender right now; they are 5th, 14 points from the top of the table.

Anyway, the disappointment of the season is Atlético Madrid. They built a rather powerful team headed by Adriana Martín to contend for the title, but instead they are doing worse than past year. So far they have only defeated low-tier teams, losing points to Levante, Zaragoza, Real Sociedad and Sporting Huelva. Qualifying for the Copa de la Reina, which has been reduced from 14 to 4 teams (seriously, what kind of national cup is that? ¬¬) is the most they can aspire to this season.

On the other hand, Sporting Huelva is the surprise of the league. They are in serious financial trouble, and they had to withdraw from the Copa de la Reina this spring and sold their best players except for Alharilla Casado and replaced them with free players from Sevilla, which had been relegated. And yet they are enjoying their best season, with just 2 losses so far and having tied against two title contenders.

Levante, Prainsa Zaragoza (a.k.a. Transportes Alcaine) and Real Sociedad are performing consistently with young and talented squads, and if Rayo keeps losing points and Sporting falters one of them might be able to grab the 4th spot. Lastly Sant Gabriel seems consolidated in their second season in Primera. None of these teams should have to deal with the danger area.

The remaining eight teams (Collerense, L'Estartit, Lagunak, Llanos Olivenza, El Olivo, Málaga, Racing, Valencia) will fight to avoid the four relegation spots. From the two debuting teams Llanos de Olivenza is doing better than El Olivo, which has made some progress lately with two ties in their two last games home but is the only team that hasn't yet won a game. Racing (a.k.a. Reocín) looks even worse, with 9 losses in a row.

Here are the results of Week 13:

    Real Sociedad 0-4 FC Barcelona
Vicky Losada 39, Olga García 49 69, Alba Aznar 87

Athletic Bilbao 2-0 FVPR El Olivo
    Érika Vázquez 63 93

    RCD Espanyol 7-0 SD Lagunak

What's different about the Barca women this year? Obviously the men have always done well, but I know the women are rarely even top-three contenders and were even relegated a few years back. So what's making them dominate this year?

Only four players remain from the team that was relegated in 2007: Ani Escribano, Melanie Serrano, Marta Unzué and Vicky Losada (who was very young). Anyway, that relegation was actually positive for Barcelona, since it changed the players' attitude and the club designed a serious project for the first time, as Xavi Llorens, the team's coach, explained some months ago.

It's a combination of good planning and good luck; they have built an extremely talented young team through their youth ranks in these past few seasons. By the end of the 2011 season, when Barcelona won the Copa de la Reina after overpowering both Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol, it was obvious they were becoming a powerhouse, and they are still improving. Plus they have made some great signings this summer; Sonia Bermúdez is right now the best player in the league.

Barcelona 1-0 Athletic, FCB confirmed as the top title contender. They have now a 5 points lead over Athletic.

Other results so far: El Olivo 0-4 Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Collerense, Levante 2-0 Sporting Huelva, Llanos Olivenza 3-1 L'Estartit. After three consecutive titles it seems Rayo won't be fighting for this one.

Claudia Zornoza (Rayo Vallecano) has signed for Atlético Madrid. She last played for Rayo in February, when she suffered an ACL injury.

Espanyol and Barcelona are playing right now. The match can be watched here: http://www.tv3.cat/3alacarta/#/directes/esport3 I don't know if it will work in other countries, though.

Olga García scores for Barcelona after 20 minutes. Great execution!

Willy Romero scores the equalizer 6 minutes later.

2-1 with 10' before HT, Espanyol goes ahead in a counterattack. Laura Ràfols repels Romero's shot but Mari Paz Vilas gets the ball and scores easily. Barcelona dominated after its goal, but the match has changed completely following the tier. This is being a very good game.

Definitely. Anyway Barcelona cheated in its second goal (with a Espanyol player hurt they stopped the play, but then launched an attack when Espanyol was off-guard), so honestly I didn't care.

Espanyol cornered Barcelona in the last ten minutes of the 1st half while leading 2-1, but they failed to convert their chances and the match leveled after the break, when Espanyol was worn out from the effort. Then Barcelona scored that controversial tier, and Ludmila Manicler, who had just entered, turned the score to 2-3. With this Espanyol disappeared from the game, and Barcelona controled it comfortably. But they too missed their chances, and then that happened in the injury time.

It was an exciting game throughout, though the 2nd half was somewhat disappointing after such a great 1H.

Here are the match's highlights. Unfortunately no Barcelona chances are included apart from the goals, but this is probably the best we will get.

    Selección absoluta= senior NT

And here there is the list of Women's NT older news. You must look the news with the word "convocatoria" (+- "call")
