Conversely it would pretty fun if he was instrumental in turning around ManU (or any team actually).

He was subbed on at the half a very tight match with Lazio. Fairly quiet most most of his minutes, mostly due to Lazio controlling a lot of possession and the other side of the pitch having most of the action, partly due to Juve’s toothless attack that couldn’t switch play (Loca looks awful).

that said, he was partially at fault for the last second goal. Guarding Guendozi top of the box on right and bit on a fake left. Didn’t put too much pressure when he got back and an inch perfect cross put in for the goal.

McKennie starting the cup semifinal. Weah on the bench.

assisted on the likely game winner to make it 2-0 in the 64th. Wasn't the most insane pass but was well timed and sprung Dusan for the goal.

we aren't;t taking advantage of weston's passing by having him run around so much in midfield with the national team

It was good because it was one touched perfectly. Those kind of passes don't seem fancy but don't allow the defense time to get set.

Agreed. The pace/angle on that pass was perfect and deserves kudos.

Wes's technical nuances have noticeably improved during his time with Juve. All in all he's become even more of a well rounded player. Our own Arturo Vidal

I don't know why leagues don't crack down like the PL league did. We have our own questions during international matches here when Mexico plays.

Anyway just wanted to point at that four out of the top five spots on Yanks Abroad forum are former FC Dallas players. Do your part Tessmann, Reynolds and Cannon - you're slacking!

people bitch and moan a lot about how bad things are in the US but FFS we haven't had this issue going on 50 years. Sure you get an isolated case once and awhile but Europe has it every week with an issue

Dude, soccer is a fluid game of nuance, contributions are not binary.

Meh, I don't think this matters.

He's a starter in Serie A. He plays even deeper for the US than he does at Juve. So he's not going to show up on the scoresheet that often. It's more important that Weah doesn't have (m)any goal contributions, since our wingers are expected to score a lot, and only Pulisic is in a Top 4 league doing that.

I haven't been worried about WM's club form all year, which has been very nice.

Real talk. And he seems to have corrected that old habit of his of the careless pass or 2 in the defensive third he used to do almost every game.

Yes, and his passing accuracy has gone up from the low 80% to low 90% usually. It still seems he should be popping up for goals in the box from time to time. I keep thinking he's going to start scoring a bunch sometime to balance the drought.

He is really playing an 8 and he doesn't get so near the goal now. That's definitely a team tactical decision.

Unless he's playing one of the last men back on all free kicks it sure seems odd he doesn't get a head on corner or free kicks like he used to.

he's had maybe half a dozen half chances and for whatever reason ball just hasn't found the net. Think he had one poached by Dusan that was going to trickle in but the rest he's just been unlucky or wasn't able to curve it around the keeper and defense.

that said, Juve isn't exactly a team that is lighting up the scoreboard and as you noted in his role completely expected not to be scoring.

Yep - as @madvillain notes, Juve is tied for 6th in GF in Serie A. And outside of Vlahovic, who is 2nd in Serie A for G/90 (and has over 1/3 of Juve's goals), nobody on the team is putting up any kind of numbers. Chiesa is 21st, Rabiot next at 69th(!), Rugani 72nd, Gatti 81st, Cambiaso 98th, etc. On the other hand, Wes leads Juve in A/90 (11th highest in league) and is a hair above CP, even. He's 4th on Juve for G+A-P/90 - without a single goal. So sure, it'd be nice to grab a goal or 3 before the end of the year, but nobody is bagging a lot of goals on this team except Dusan.

Maybe he didn't know about their history until he moved there.
