Poch's return to his old club. Chance to jump into 5th place and also for Kane to get ahead of Aguero as Prem top scorer. Lloris back fit apparently. Rest of team should be relatively unchanged.
This really is a big one, at least to those of us for whom Europe is important. I'll be able to live with a draw, but a loss will leave me despondent. I hate the early games, but sometimes you just gotta set the alarm and deal with it.
I decided last night that I would not get up early to watch this (see apathy thread). But, I woke at 7:15 by chance and felt well-rested. So, down I came and am enjoying breakfast and Spurs playing a reasonably spirited game. Nice to see them appear to give a damn.
That break with Lamela sums up his limitations, not quite enough pace to get away from the defender on him and not quite enough brain to play in someone else.
That is the stupidest goal we've conceded all season and that is saying something. What the fvck was that from Davies?? Terrible from Mason as well, slipping under no pressure then garbage backpass.
Seriously, has there been a worse moment in our season than that? Unlike the commentator, I think that's more Ryan Mason's fault than Ben Davies.
It's a pity as not played too badly, just typical Spurs still to give up a soft goal from nowhere. Can never achieve anything until that is ironed out.
Weird goal, ball hit Lamela more than anything and keeper didn't do well trying to keep it out. Bit of a gift. I'll take it though, although Mane's pace is tricky and Schneiderlin + Ward-Prowse are dangerous, Pelle has been mostly dominated and I'd expect one of Kane/Eriksen to get something in the second half against their defence and keeper who look pretty average.
that's twice now ward-prowse has had an open shot because the Spurs defense got turned inside out. lucky not to be down 3-1
Well sub paid off, Long to Pelle. 2-1. Poch has been out thought tactically too often in the last few weeks.
We are so Spurzy. I think it is reasonable to hope we get the draw, but the match has felt at risk constantly even with Spurs playing decently.
despite the goal, I still think lamela needs to be sold if any reasonable value can be gotten for him. not a good fit for this squad, and he's had plenty of time to prove otherwise. personally I think the PL is too fast a league for him
