Hey guys, managed to get off work early today so I figured I'd provide a written commentary to the game while I'm listening to it on Player. Starting lineup for our Saints: Kelvin Davis Dan Harding Jose Fonte Daniel Seaborne Joseph Mills Jason Puncheon Dean Hammond Morgan Schneiderlin Papa Waigo Rickie Lambert Lee Barnard While typing this up in the first 90 seconds, Hartlepool have already had a few chances, I wonder if the mindset of the Cup Final this Sunday is in their minds as they won't want any injuries or knocks in the squad? Let's hope we can get a win here and climb closer to the playoffs
sh**, 1-0 to Hartlepool after 10 minutes. We've been playing a little better than the first 4 minutes but the defense allowed the ball to bounce in the box and Monkhouse put away a good ball from O'Donovan to put the visitors up.
YES!!!! Papa Waigo puts in a great cross and Hammond's header is saved by the keeper off the bar and Barnard puts the rebound away! 1-1 at St. Mary's
interesting that we started with a 4-3-1-2 with Papa Waigo inbetween the 3 midfielders and 2 forwards but once we went behind we went straight to a 4-4-2 with Puncheon on the left and Waigo on the right and since then we've been dominating the possession and also the game, 67% possession for us! COYR!!!
Brentford up on Colchester 2-0 great news for us! with a win for us and a loss for them we'd be 10 points out of 6th Rickie Lambert's far out free kick goes just over the bar! almost!
Neil Austin goal 57th minute, 3-2 now also the Colchester game is 3-2 in favor of Brentford I also forgot to mention that Paul Wotton came on for Morgan at half-time
Lambert almost curls one around the keeper! pushed out for a corner kick Yet again, he whips it above everybody for a shot on goal! right away Hartlepool get a shot that Davis pushes away for a corner, almost all squared up there..
Last minutes of the game, we gave away a free kick outside the box and the shot went just right, 3 minutes of injury time. Come on Saints keep a hold of it!
Well there's the game, Waigo almost had a chance to add another as well as Barnard but we'll take what we can get! If only Brentford could have held on for the win, we are now only 11 points behind 6th place. Next game-WEMBLEY!!!!
