Figured I'd break the matchday silence! Let's get right to it, here are the teams...

    Southampton vs QPR

Southampton: Davis, Thomas, Powell, Davies, Wright, Hammill, Safri, Euell, Surman, Wright-Phillips, John

Subs: Bialkowski, Saganowski, Viafara, Idiakez, Lallana

QPR: Camp, Mancienne, Rehman, Connolly, Delaney, Lee, Mahon, Rowlands, Ephraim, Vine, Agyemang

Subs: Pickens, Stewart, Blackstock, Buzsaky, Leigertwood

    Referee: Anthony Taylor (Greater Manchester)

So the Internationals Stewart and Buzsaky get a rest, but make the bench. As does our American signing Matt Pickens.

Southampton have been in poor form of late - this would be a great away result if we can get it. Nearly 3,500 travelling fans made their way down from London.

    UUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRs!

Good morning. Thanks for starting the thread. Oliver and I have been up for awhile this morning. We just watched (well, I watched, he "listened" while napping in my arms) a recording of the Belize vs. St. Kitts World Cup qualifier and now we're going to listen to the R's. Think he'll be ready for a bite and a change soon.

If Stewart gets a rest, is Rehman still our best option?

    And Mahon ahead of Leigertwood?

Are we starting Rowlands and Mahon in the center? I guess so. Interesting.

[R] in this thread for all of today's English league games.

Southampton's goal, as described by World's match tracker:

Handball by Lee Camp(QPR). Direct free kick taken right-footed by Adam Hammill(Southampton) from left wing, goal by Darren Powell(Southampton) left-footed (bottom-left of goal) from centre of penalty area (6 yards).Southampton 1-0 QPR. Assist by Adam Hammill(Southampton) from left wing.

Looks like it and the reviews of Zesh from the Bristol City match were very positive so I guess that's why he gets the nod.

Hope you're enjoying the new matchday routine over there - sounds like you've got your hands full!

Rs don't sound too terrible since the early goal - we need to find some form away.

The early goal will just make us pull together to get the result.

Atouk, congrats on your addition to the family. And here is to your new saturday morning traditions.

Did "the mrs" nix your idea of naming the baby Roy Wegerle Atouk???

Stoke leads 1-0 at Wolves. Bristol City leads 1-0 at home against Sheff Wed.

I didn't realize Rehman played against Bristol City. I saw the result, but haven't read the reports yet. To be fair, Rehman has received pretty good reviews in his last few games. Good for him.

On the home front, he just really doesn't like to sleep much from midnight to six. Or, more accurately, he doesn't like to sleep during those hours unless he's being held. He's much more willing to sleep on his own during the day.

Thanks for the congrats. We did consider Dan Shittu Atouk, but thought he wouldn't be able to live it down on the playground. ;)

    :D

I think giving up a 1st minute goal means WE will be the ones getting a goal in injury time...injury time of BOTH halves!!!

More poor defending from the R's. Camp forced into a save after a poor effort from Bradley Wright-Phillips then Stern John shot over after Ephraim gave up the ball. Then a free header on a corner kick that Camp had to save. Ugly stuff.

    More goals in the Championship...

Barnsley is up 1-0 at home against WBA.

Burnley leads Colchester 1-0 at home.

    Watford leads 1-0 at Ipswich.

    Preston leads 1-0 at Coventry.

Buzsaky enters for the R's at the half, replacing Kieran Lee.

Adam Hammill off; Marek Saganowski on for Southampton.

We're underway in the second half. UUUURRRRRs!

Good start to the half for the R's. Good stuff from Ephraim.

First corner of the half for QPR comes to nothing.

John just shot over the bar. Camp wasn't happy.

The referee has taken his book out a few times lately:

Powell (62) with a yellow for Southampton; Buzsaky (59) and Delaney (69) for the R's.

Agyemang was fouled by Youssef Safri; Safri gets a straight red for having his studs up, apparently. Agyemang is down getting treatment.

The assistant referee came and reported some pushing and shoving and Southampton's Jhon Viafara received a yellow.

Agyemang comes off; Dexter Blackstock comes on. Come on, Dex, get one against your former club. Southampton supporters give him a nice hand as he comes on.
