Yeah, it hasn't really been N&A for a while. However, there is some significance to him getting those goals. You'd have to think it would make it a bit easier for him to leave now that he is Chelsea's all time leading scorer. I think he'd be a little less inclined to leave (if there was a contract offer from Chelsea) if he was one short of being the all time scoring leader.
I would also agree that this makes it slightly more likely he leaves Chelsea. On the other hand he's been in great form, and will likely want to do everything in his power to get himself on the 2014 World Cup squad. It might be a year too early for a move to MLS. However, if Mourinho comes back to Chelsea i think it would greatly increase the odds Lampard stays. He is super fond of him by all accounts and even attempted to bring him to Inter Milan when he was there.
In many ways, it's not surprising that Frank Lampard stays with Chelsea since he's been very loyal to the football club. More importantly, his latest move increases the chance to remain part of the England's men football team. Otherwise, if he signs with LA Galaxy, it could raise "negative risk" on his future international football career. The news story comes 4 days after breaking the goal scoring record for a Chelsea footballer. And, just under two months after the Independent UK and Daily Mail UK for months speculated on his future football career move, although I can't believe that English press would buy that he'll be leaving them. Overall, it's good news for Chelsea and its supporters, England, and EPL. In contrast, it's bad news for LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer. A 1-year extension right now makes ton of sense. He wants more than anything to be on the World Cup team next year. It makes way, way more sense all around for him to retire from England and go somewhere else in summer 2014. He would still be a good signing next year. He's a hell of a player.
