We need songs if we're going to support the Independence in style! Let's get creative or at least modify some old standards for our purposes.
Here's the only one I saw suggested so far: Here's the tune. The part that fits the song best is from 1:00 to 1:15. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyz_2DEah4o"]YouTube- The A-Team Full Theme Tune[/ame] What do you think of Chapka's suggestion?
We can use the same main chant as for the Union. Namely, Phil - a - delph -ia (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap But how about instead of just repeating Philadelphia, we chant Independence after it. Phil - a - delph -ia (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap In - de - pen - dence (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap Phil - a - delph -ia (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap In - de - pen - dence (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap Phil - a - delph -ia (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap In - de - pen - dence (with hands raised) CLAP - CLAP - clap-clap-clap
Here's a start, right about 30 seconds but it needs help: for those old enough to remember, the tune is from SchoolHouse Rock's Constitution song - (lots of versions on YouTube) We the people In order to play more perfect football Establish our game, ensure our identity Stand firm with awsome defense With the help of 2 Swedes and Iceland Enjoy the blessings of a Summer day For ourselves and our posterity Do proclaim and establish Our Independence For all of Phil a del phi a please make suggestions and repost
Oh I love SchoolHouse Rock! ^.^ That sound better? I think I got all the syllable counts and end sounds right ("right" as in matching the SHR version). The ...day/...posterity lack-of-rhyme is bothering me, as is the fact that the "posterity" line now seems to be modifying what follows it instead of what it follows, but oh well. Also interested as to how you're gonna stretch out "for all of Philadelphia" to match "for the United States of America". =-) Oh, and my nit-pick-iness had to correct "proclaim" to "ordain".... ^.^''
