Jose said it was a hamstring injury that Son got taken off for...this is why playing him 90 mins in EL games + playing every minute of the season with such a hectic schedule is dangerous. Hopefully he's alright for the Chelsea game

+ Hamstring injury is the worst for footballers imo bc it's too easy to get injured again once its damaged..

So do we now argue viciously argue about which injury is worse for footballers, hamstring vs ACL??

Was looking forward to seeing what Tottenham attack would look like with new players with Son being in amazing form. Dammit.

Depends on the injury, he could actually be back pretty soon

    • Grade I: a mild muscle strain - likely to recover in a few days.
    • Grade II: a partial muscle tear- 4-8 weeks.
    • Grade III: a complete muscle tear or tear of an attachment - may take weeks or months to heal.
Here's hoping it's the first one. Son's pain tolerance is def high (broken arm and all), but he did walk off at halftime without limping and most thought he was being subbed out for rest.

Hopefully it's not a muscle tear.. or recurrent rates are very high....

pain tolerance doesn't matter if the muscle is damaged. i'd rather he listen to the pain and let it fully heal rather than want to play through pain and risk a more serious re-injury.

I agree with you in that it's better to let it heal. In mentioning his pain tolerance, I meant that it's hard to gauge the extent of the injury just from looking at him walking off at halftime. There weren't any noticeable moments where he looked like he was injured.

I'm not sure this is true yet, since someone who at least claims to be Chinese in that reddit thread said that the fee is what Beijing paid and not what they intend to sell him for.

    https://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/kim-min-jae.142266/page-34

Also, this thread sorta talks about this too and another (who claims to be Chinese) said that the reporter was merely speculating since KMJ wasn't in the squad yesterday along with them bringing in another foreign CB. If there are stronger/other sources, then I'll stand corrected (happily so to see KMJ freed), but this seems too good to be true atm.

Easy to confirm this by just looking at transfermarkt, where it shows his transfer to Beijing was indeed that much.

Is this the Son thread or transfer thread of someone else?

C'mon, it's not like Son's a Pato or Lamela. Guy's been Spurs' PotY 2 years in a row.

Thankfully, Mourinho said today that he expects him back after int'l break.

Seems like Son's injury isn't too serious, may be back in a week or two.
