Yes, it was KBS. I haven't seen the interview pop up yet but will keep an eye out. Son's German or English must be decent.
Turkey has compulsory military service too. They're a pretty hard core bunch. But they manage not to screw over professional athletes that represent the country. I remember reading that Tuncay (as a national team member) had to spend a few summers in a row doing military training to fulfill his obligations. I hate to see draft dodging. But at a given point, couldn't we work with the schedules for our national team members in team sports like football/baseball? Considering the amount of time they spend in training camps/friendlies for the WC and other competitions, couldn't we make them do 3 consecutive summers of military training in the off season if they reach a certain number of caps? We can have the kids in Europe do it in the summer and the K/J-leaguers do it in the winter. That way they could both serve, stay in shape and progress in their pro careers. E.g., it would do KSY a world of good. And to those who say they are already compensated in bonus payments for the WC, then those who haven't served don't get a bonus in return for a modified schedule. While those who have served get the full bonus payment. I think it's rather equitable...
Maybe starting their service early, 18 for example, would help. Get it over with so it's not hanging over your head.
LOL what the heck was the deal with that Nistelrooy celebration? The clip doesn't really explain the reasoning behind it.

Heh he was referring to Edwin Van Der Sar, who grabbed the ball. I think he did it to prevent play from restarting while tempers were still flaring.
i know he was. i was just making a comment on ruud. i wasn't actually replying to his post. was just lazy and clicked the quote button.

that's amazing. imagine being 18 and getting that sort of ovation. if you haven't seen it already, check out the vid of fans greeting dortmund players getting off the team bus. they carried kagawa on their shoulders after having scored two goals against schalke - although that part's not in the vid.
Awesome vid. Off topic completely but anyone remember how to find that YouTube vid of the Korean soccer ad with the characters in stat's avatar?
So when the hell is this kid going to fully recover so he can get some playtime. You can't have Shinji Kagawa stealing all the asian glory in the bundesliga by himself
Apparently he's doing light jogging but not training with the team yet. Which seems good to me given that we're still only like 5.5 weeks since the break or something.
This is old, but for those who haven't seen it: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tp8q_DxmAY&feature=related"]YouTube - ??? ??? ?? ???[/ame]
