    He's been shit.
He used to be in great form during pre-season. Looks like he's not gonna do well this year.
I hope it's not bc he bulked up too much.

The season is almost a month from now. He's got plenty of time to get his act together.

Isn't it because he has normally been playing for the KNT in the summer? He actually had a decent layoff this time around so it makes sense that he would take time to get back up to speed. If anything I hope that he can delay hitting his 'wall' by a month or so, because it seemed like he hit it around March/April this past season.

By this logic wouldn't Robben and Ronaldo also be midfielders?

i think inside forwards can be a gray area positionally.

I think it depends on the country. I believe for some countries (Spain? Italy?) 'midfielders' usually refers to CMs.

But I also think a winger like Antonio Valencia is very different than a winger like Neymar. Imo Valencia would be a MF, Neymar a forward.

Maybe it's a good thing he cant score this pre season. He scored like 300 goals a couple of pre seasons ago.

Hopefully this just means he's controlling his fitness well so that he peaks later in the season than he has in previous years :D He's gotten some much needed rest. I'm excited for his season. I think he'll step it up another level.

Yeah pretty much this. There are many roles of a winger. SHM cuts inside from the left wing and is generally there to attack. SHM is a forward imo despite being labeled an LM or some bs.

LCY doesn't really cut in and is looking to pass/cross, and someone who supports the attack.

guys like neymar, ronaldo, messi for Barca (not for argentina) are all inside forwards playing in the winger position.
