I'm planning a road trip this summer hopefully. Do I go to Bloomington IL or Bloomington Indiana? I know that Upland has great fish and chips. On the other hand this place looks amazing from the pictures and I'm pretty sure I might find something more exciting than a milk farm on the way back. https://www.destihl.com/brewery---beer-hall.html
Nah I just meant if I wanted to load a single truck up. As far as what I'm drinking now? I'm gonna live forever
Working on a bottle of Blackened tonight- it's a (not lying) Metallica-inspired whiskey aged in brandy barrels and 'sonically-enhanced' by having it listen to Metallica playlists while in the barrel. There's a reason this shit is $44 a bottle (not too bad honestly) but I think it's tied more to the marketing materials than the source materials if I'm being honest. Since I am a complete and utter consumer (aka sucker) though, I'm listening to the playlist assigned to this batch while enjoying the admittedly nice, spicy, sonically-enhanced whiskey. I'm not a huge Metallica fan (I do like them just not actively), but it's a tasty whiskey and if you do like Metallica and whiskey and have $44 to drop on a bottle, you'll probably enjoy this, too.
Abbott Ale at Pleasant Public House. First beer "in public" since March. Social distancing lunch...we are the only people on the patio. The world is beginning to heal.
The bar down the street with a mikerphone collaboration just reopened today but I just bought this. I guess I'll do that tommorow
Had Gravitace(Czech pilsner) from Art History Brewing in Geneva over the weekend. Will be drinking Geneva Belle(prohibition style lager) from there when I get home from work. If it is anything like Gravitace I will be impressed and happy that a brewery near me makes good pilsners and lagers.
Check out D and G brewing in Saint Charles. They have great Summer beers and most Fridays, there's a spectacular food truck serving brick oven pizza on the social distancing patio. Alex, the owner is a former school teacher and all around cool guy.
I'm social distancing geeze. And I'm drinking a mikerphone collaboration now. And no. But bunch of people playing video poker at other bar tell that to them
There's a place in Michigan called Old Nation brewing. Recently picked up their north German style pils at binnys and it was one of the better ones I've had recently
Been there a few times already. Yes the owner is great. He remembers my face every time I go in. D and G and Art History are so far my favs out here in the burbs.
Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue is pretty great and glad I made it there. But next time I consider going to Iowa I'm just buying as much moon man as my bank account allows. Like a tornado warning here. Just drinking moon man waiting for buffalo wild wings to deliver to hotel
