Loved it! Last time I went was when Daft Punk played like 9 years ago. Going next year for sure. Popped in to so many different music acts. A lot of my pleasant surprises we're on the smaller stages (Unified Highway & Potty Mouth). Only regret was I didn't see Die Antwoord because LCD Soundsystem was so damn good I didn't want to leave. I also had a pretty unique to the festival light up mask that made me look like a Panther so after sundown I was kind of a celebrity, that was nice.
You should have seen Jane's Addiction's set. It would have brought you back to that time. Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball, the Struts and Silversun Pickups were my favorites. Even Halsey put on a great set.
I once saw Jane's Addiction open up for the Cult during their 1987 "Love" tour and Perry Farrell was an asshat insulting the crowd who didn't give a rat's a** about him and I have disliked him from that moment going forward and vow that I will never do anything to put money in that guy's pocket either….Unless he buys the Chicago Fire I might consider it.
I don't actually have a problem with Farrell, and I went to the 1st three lollas until the slow drip of commercialization, the increasingly unappealing lineups, and the sheer cash and time investment required made me lose interest. Also, most of the bands I wanted to see (Siouxsie, Ministry, Babes in Toyland, etc) are really club bands, not arena bands. There was something really weird about seeing Ministry outside in the blazing sun at 1 in the afternoon. Something not quite right.
Water because it's 7:30am. But, I couldn't get the pina colada song out of my head so I think I'm going to learn to make them for fire matches because at least it's impossible to be depressed with in your head.
was drinking Apex Predator and Allagash until 3am last night now I'm at work questioning my life choices.
it wasn't bad, though I preferred the Allagash. Loving that even the 80 year old family owned neighborhood restaurant/bar carries a limited but interesting selection of indy beers. beats the hell out of having to pick between Miller and Bud when you're picking up your carry out order.
melikey I live in Waukegan, so there's really no excuse, but I was out. Had 2 more Apex Preds, 2 Allagash, and two of these for some reason my head hurts and I'm sleepy.
Just picked up some non-alcoholic beverages for the game. I got two Abita Root Beers (the Malort of root beer, and not in a good way) for when we lose. Then I got a Goose Island Root Beer and a Henry Wienhard for the off chance we win. I pray to God we win.
