With our season on the line ...

down a goal in the first half ...

on a team that "attacks with abandon" ...

We took five frigging shots. Lucky for us, Hristo (and I can't believe I just said that) took two of them.

We finished with 331, three less than last year. That ties the league record for fewest shots taken. The Crew had 331 in 2002, but they only played 26 games.

The Dallas Burn had one more shot than we did all season. But the eighth-place team (the Crew) could finish with 40 more shots than we did.

Sure, it only works out to one more shot a game. But the team's with the top three shot totals are also the three highest-scoring teams in the league.

according to the MLSnet match report, we took 10. Now I have to re-watch the game and count them. :p

My bad, 10 shots, 5 on goal.

So we escaped the ignominy of having the lowest shot toal, leaving last year's team with the record for a team that played a full season.

A dubious escape. And a mea culpa from me.

I guess that Metro playoff fever is catching. Better get your shots (pun intended!)
