    It is worse than this because the trust fund is borrowed against by the government to make the deficit look smaller. When Social Security says "Ok, government, time to pay back the money we lent you", the only recourse may be to start up the printing press. What's worse than getting 60% of what you were promissed is getting that 60% in inflated money.
