Oh it’s boring as shit to watch. At my high school during PE we’d get the occasional pool day when it was really hot, and they’d have us play gutterball, which was basically like water polo played across the width of the shallow end of the pool trying to get the ball in the opposing team’s side gutter. But it was more like an excuse to jump on top of people and try to dunk them under the water. I kinda doubt they play that anymore.
Court storming is stoopid. But looks like the Dookie Filipowsi went for a shove then twisted his ankle I’m going to keep it a buck with yall, this looks like Kyle Filipowski stuck his foot out and tried to push and trip that student that stormed the court 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/jsLekfzquR— Rollin’ Raiders 🏴☠️🌵 (@rollin_raiders) February 24, 2024
Yes. When I came to study to the US I was looking for a spring sport (since soccer was only played in the fall), and I foolishly thought (since I loved swimming) that waterpolo would be fun. What a mistake! Since I'd never played before, and I was clueless about the skills needed, I figured the best chance to make the team was as a goalie. I figured wrongly that I had pretty good reflexes and it shouldn't be too hard for me to stop shots from kids who are floating on water. Apparently not too many kids wanted to play goalie so I managed to make the team as the third goalkeeper. It was a nightmare. Obviously since the pool only had two goals, I was mostly relegated to the side pool doing boring drills with the other kids who sucked the most. But I quickly realized why nobody wanted to be a goalie. The worst was that I had to swim standing up in place the whole time, using techniques called the flutter kick, the egg-beater kick, which I wasn't good at, since I'd never heard of it before. And contrary to what I thought, the good players really could put power on their shots, and blocking them was painful. On top of it the coach was an a-hole. I didn't last long. The only good thing I got out of that coach and that experience was that he introduced me to a very good weight room routine, especially for the legs, and it became very useful to me for soccer, and also for track and field, which is the sport I ended up embracing for the spring after I quit waterpolo.
Save them for big occasions. Maybe this qualifies; Wake has been bad for a while so maybe this is their first win over a top ten team in a while. But seriously, Duke has like 1 Final Four since 2015, they were I think ranked #10 coming into the game. Not really a big win guys, unless your standards are low.

I wonder if he’ll actually collect. That seems very illegal. IANAL. Like, the visiting team captain can take all his money and bet on a call of heads and (minus the vig) double his money. But that’s not gambling because gambling is about variables.

lol it looked like the Duke player initiated the contact. But yeah, court storming is dumb. At least this win meant something, but it seems like every other game where the home team wins there's a court invasion.

IIRC, there were two streakers, so both could claim that they didn't know about the other? https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...12/super-bowl-streakers-arrested/72567315007/
Just looking at Wake's conference record (10-6), seems borderline for getting to the Big Dance. But they were 0-3 against the top 25. Not only is that bad in terms of # of wins, but its bad in terms of number of games played v top 25. They probably had no shot if they went 0-and-4 v t25 and 9-7 in the ACC. They may still fail to get in, but this seemed like a must have (or else win the ACC tourney). It was a big win <and here comes the big caveat> by regular season college b-ball standards.
Wait, so let me get this straight: Dook lost. Their opponents' fans stormed the court, causing a dookie to get injured. Why, exactly should we dislike ANYTHING about that? If anything, all good and upstanding Americans should CELEBRATE a dook loss, dook getting beaten on national TV, and a dookie getting injured! For my part, as I give zero shits about college sports, seeing some kid who may never make a dollar playing professionally getting injured in a postgame celebration is indeed a good thing.
Oh wow one of my pet peeves. Co-sign There should be separate awards for Goal of the Week/Month/Year and Shot of the W/M/Y.
