Oh and Frieslander if you want to see some photo's of Uithuizen I can look around here, I did run into one of the house I was living in back then. Its quite a small village in the middle of nowhere, with a mill at its centrum. A canal starts there called the 'boterdiep' and streams down to the city of Groningen. The pride of the village is the 'Menkemaborg' which is a sort of castle. And I just read what I wrote earlier about Uithuizen and didnt meant to be offending, which it sort of was. I dont really have any good memories of the village and of most of the people living in it, they gave me the idea like they were a bunch of jelous failers, as you can see, Im still bittered Well now I think of it, somethings were nice, I made some good friends there which I compleetly forgot until this moment, a particulair girl swings around in my head atm. oh The public pool also was quite nice, to bad its all a big blur for me. I belief I forced most memories out because of the bad ones... which were really painfull and made me today heartless at moments... but the rest of the story is for my girl to hear, gives her a change to practice her studies
I've actually been there. I've got the photos to prove it. When I was in Fryslan 2 years ago I took the train from Ljouwert to Uithuizen for the day. I didn't have anything going on (neither did Uithuizen!) and I wanted some pictures to show my grandmother. She had visited once when she was a teenager.
That was pretty cool. I'm still trying to find out why I have a thing for the Netherlands. My mom's roots go back to Piemonte in Italy (via Spain and Honduras) my dad's roots are Scottish - but I like the Dutch for some reason. When I was little I had a guy in School named van Dullen and I thought the "van" was cool. Still no idea why I like the Dutch so much.
First of all, Groningen originated from itself....and I believe the saxons already populated the east of our country since the dark ages.. anyway, WE dind't become saxons all of a sudden...It was YOU that started changing around 1600....Historians and archeologists aren't sure about the cause (most likely causes are: a viral infection, inbreed or degeneration), but around that time, the people west of Groningen started to develop a nasty speech impediment...This speech impediment is now considered to be a language...
For the dutch speakers I was just wondering why "ij" is changed to "y" like Dirk Kuijt (Kuyt) or Feijnoord (Feyenoord).
Re: For the dutch speakers 'ij' is the second to last letter in the Dutch alphabet. It means the same thing as 'y.' Feyenoord changed their name in the 70's when they started playing in Europe. They wanted to make it easier for people to know how to pronounce the name. I can't explain why they do it for player names though. They do it to Cruijff too. But I read Van Nistelrooy prefers a 'y.'
Re: Re: For the dutch speakers I knew about Feyenoord, but didn't know the other stuff. Learning all sorts of good stuff here.
Frieslander's good people. DCSo5 -bring back the other avatar, its much more powerful. This is sort of blah.
Don't worry panic, I'll bring back the Feyenoord avatar. This avatar is only until after Wednesday's Depor game. For some reason it's a lot smaller than the Feyenoord one.
I just bought a new cd, a cd which I sad enough lost 5 years ago. Its a commericial one but still so sweet. its Thunderdome VIII... its what? Its commercial gabber, by id-t. huh, Gabber? Yeah Gabber, around 220 bmps with a atmosphere of 'sarcastic' dark and threatening tunes with the energy aggressive and driving. But Gabber is not speedblind stupid music... well ok some is. What distinguishes a good gabber track from a bad one is a ability to make something fast and noisy... but at the same moment, innovative, alternative and interesting to hear. This is where most 'Thunderdome'-acts run short. So here is the playlist of the 2 cd's: Dj Weirdo & Dj Sim - Go Get Busy Predator - Mind Of A Lunatic Dj Paul - Play My Game Dj Gizmo - Rescue Dj Waxweazle - Look Ahead The Nerds - Are Back Happy Toons - Let's Go Party The Dentist Of Boscaland - The Purple Anthem Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy Bodylotion Ii - Make You Dance Critical Mass - Having Sex Dano & No Sweat - Suckers Lenny Dee & Darien Kelly - Schoom The Ender - Alles Egal Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa The Scotchman - Happy Vibes Bata - The Shoeshineman Bc Kid - Das Gehammer Rob Gee - Realm Of Natas Vanugenth The 5Th - p|_|ssycat Toni Salmonelli - Hey! 50% Of The Dreamteam - The Thundertheme The clown - Do you want a balloon 3 Steps Ahead - Action Pvc - 65-47-3 Dj Gizmo - Hear Me On The Radio El Bruto - Hypnotising Lockjaw - Ruff 'n Ruggin Scott Brown Meets Dj Paul - Cheese 'n Beats Dj Sim - You're A Nut Buzz Fuzz - Nu Year Sfr & Guitar Rob - Total Selfdestruction The Prophet - Allright Now Here We Go (Rob Gee) Northern Boys - Can You Feel The Newyork Terrorist - Da Joint Public Domain - So Get Up Ralphie Dee - Mad As Hell /me cant sleep anymore. I going to be to busy playing all my thunderdome albums: III, IV, VI,VII, VIII, X, XII and XV ps. Yeah I just installed my spell checks
Never heard of any of those bands or songs. "Sort it out" by the Ceasars is on TV now. Lyrics are pretty bad, but the music is good.
