I was trying to spell it both the Dutch way and the Surinamese way to properly honour his contribution to our team.
I haven't been paying very close attention to transfer talk - so I wonder how much of this is just idle press speculation. You'd have to figure - either Jurgen wants P. Coutinho with something definite in mind or he isn't a cog of any kind of necessity. Two notions that reside rather far apart when you look at it closely enough. Someone also said that it's a strengthening idea because maybe with Coutinho we would have won the CL in 2018 - but that's pretty idle speculation also, as it's equally possible that with Coutinho we didn;t beat Man City 5-1 or, in fact, beat them at all, considering they beat us 5-0 the last time we played them with Phil..... All of this stuff is realllly idle speculation. I'd be fascinated ot hear what Klopp really thinks of the idea....
I've also agreed with you on that before. Believe me - I remember these rare cold days in Valhall when we agree.... (hint: when you are not nonsensicalizing about Cuba, China etc .....) don't worry - i'll continue to spell "nonsensicalizing" as is ..... Wijnaldum and Ox and Keita are all capable of scoring 10 goals in a season from mid.
One thing about that comparison is off - Obviously they don't make sense at the money needed to match their deals - but I'd reckon that what is holding a few clubs off of taking a gamble on Bale is that he spends half his time injured. For that reason he isn't a good gamble even for teams that want to splash a massive load of dosh about. Bale (if fit) would (most likely) be value for whatever money a team paid. Coutino is, as you say in the rest of the post, best suited to a particular theme.... Coutinho is considered to not be performing at Barca. The same simply cannot be said regarding Bale at Madrid.
Coutinho won't be coming back because he doesn't have the physical capacity to do the work we need someone in that position, for that much money, to do. https://elpais.com/deportes/2018/04/22/actualidad/1524420154_423331.html
It's a rare curiosity in football to have so many guys who can run like these boys, it must be hell to try to play against... Which is why I have one minor worry over the upcoming season - he's never really shown it, but I worry that Mane might experience some burn-out.... blasted competition is still going on and the league starts in three or 4 weeks.... I don't think we're going to see the M,F,S trio too much for the first month or so of the season. So hopefully Ox and Shaq are awake when we begin.....
Ahem, his name is from a Frisian city/town. https://www.frieslandwonderland.nl/?pagina=plaats&id=694 https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wijnaldum_(plaats) Nothing Dutch or Surinam about it.
The Germans, who have excellent senses of humour, BTW, have East Friesland jokes that are the rough equivalent to Polack jokes. Here's one: Q: Wie viele Ostfriesen braucht man, um eine Glühbirne auszutauschen? A: Das ist keine Möglichkeit.
It doesn't really work so well in English. But, just for you: Q: How many East Frieslanders does it take to change a lightbulb? A: It can't be done.
Georgie will do me. And yeah, I've seen 4 spellings in google for Georgie. A lot of the great Dutchies came from Surinam
Acquaintance of mine who has written for 2-3 UK dailies on football, says that the Coutinho loan deal has been green-lighted (lit?) by LFC. It's negotiation time to see if they can find an agreement between the clubs and player. Definitely NOT a done deal, but the 3 parties are talking. Supposedly. Apparently. Perhaps. Maybe.
BTW, if the above does come to pass, Liverpool win the transfer window for the second straight summer, right?
Neymar still plays football? They're 28 and while both are good, neither are worthy of creating fear - would you take either of them over Salah or Mane? And for mortals not named Messi or Ronaldo, those two players have 2, maybe 3, more seasons of relevance in them. I'd be willing to bet my house Messi is still more effective than either of them in 3 years.
