Would anyone be interested in a Ski Trip? Since 1/19 is a holiday and 1/20 is going to be another day off for government workers (not to mention a traffic nightmare for the inaguration), I was thinking that 1/16 through 1/20 would be a good time for a ski trip.

Holiday?!? Some of us have to be up at 4:45 AM on the 20th for the parade vet check (on the horses, not riders ;)). *yawn*

Okay, that "some of us" is probably just "me" but otherwise I'd love to go. :D

If you're going anywhere in "the area" go to Seven Springs.

I prefer Blue Knob for day trips, but then again I get up early. It's colder as it's at a higher elevation and doesn't have a fancy lodge, so you get less of the DC touristy types who want to spend half the day in the lodge. That and they have some tree skiing which at least adds some entertainment to east-coast skiing. The lifts are older, but there's also a lot less people.

Be careful if it's snowing that day as driving up & down the hill to the parking lot can be nasty if you don't know how to drive in snow or have the wrong type of tires.

ANYWAY... I'm already going west for one ski trip, and more than happy to join in the Barra for a long weekend to SLC or whatever.

I was thinking of a whole weekend trip. Apparently, I'm not the only one in the DC area who had this brilliant idea. The ski resorts are going to be very busy.

Seven Springs is very nice, as long as you can stay at the resort. Driving to it is not so nice.

Yeah... Sonny Bono died like 10 years ago. Time to buy some new jokes. :p

Trees & bowls are the only way to go. (Now, let's see you make a joke outta that :p)

I prefer buds and bongs to stems and bowls! ;)

I prefer Snowshoe. But the drive stinks.
