``I'm not completely confident." Donovan struggles at finish WITH CANNON FORCED TO SIT, CONWAY TO START IN GOAL http://www.bayarea.com/mld/bayarea/sports/soccer/mls/san_jose_earthquakes/3953903.htm
Let's hope he geta a couple in DC and regains his confidence. Beleiving in yourself is really important for a striker, especially in a 1 v1.
I don't see how he doesn't have confidence. Millions of girls love him, he was the youngest to score in the World Cup, and some of the best leagues want him. I say he's using "lack of confidence" as an excuse, so who knows whats up w/him.
And that's exactly why Bayer Leverkusen should allow him to stay in MLS for up to 2 more years. Talented as he is, he still has a lot of growing to do.
If he lacks confidence, after the two beauties that he got yesterday, what's he like when he gains confidence?
Hmm if Landon sucks then explain why he is playing professional soccer again. How he plays for the national team and scored 2 goals in the world cup and why just about all the soccer sopporters love him. Oh yeah and did u realize that san jose was at the mls cup last year and it was landond's first?hmm interesting
That doesn't mean that just because it was his first year and the Quakes got really good that same year that it was all him. Weren't there a couple new players? Maybe there was an increase in team unity. Maybe they gained more confidence. Maybe it has to do with Yallop being there.
Answer positive to all those "maybes." First credit has to go to Frank for his overall leadership, then to the Goose for his onfield leadership, to Troy Dayak for the solidity he brought back with him, Mannie Lagos for his abilities, to Donovan for his sterling abilities, to Richard for his skill and hard work, and I could go on and on. Overall, it's about a well functioning team-family, more than any one person, more than any one star. P.S. Would someone tell that dumbass Rob Stone that "team" is not a "cheesy cliche," that one word cannot be a cliche, and that he doesn't have the vaguest notion of what the word cliche means. Bah, humbug!!!!!
I am not a SJ fan, I have been follwing the MLS closely and I know how SJ used to be before, but I toally agree with that as well. I was just mentioning one "maybe" with Landon Donovan. -Betty Bree
Landon is NOT the Quakes, but he IS a good---not great, but good--player--he's got WAY too much pressure right now though...maybe after the contract thing is over he'll go back to his usual self...
Who the hell is Landond?! Hmm.. if you could spell his damn name right then maybe that post would have been worth something..
