Where are the best, newset malls in SA and where are some good local areas around the various cities?
EDIT: Misread your post Well..since this is a new topic altogether, i may as well recommend these following cool malls: Pretoria: Kolonnade Menlyn ^ Brooklyn Mall Durban: The pavillion
What are your needs exactly? Shopping can be dull to some people and SA sure aint Disney....I mentioned Menlyn because there is lots of stores in one place, as well as restaurants...its one of the larger stores...not necc one of my personal favourites...but one of the better known stores in SA... Fleamarkets are also quite popular in SA...
personally, I am going to spend a good day shopping. I am based in JNB. And when I say I want to shop, I mean buy tons of stuff. Going to a mall in itself is a luxury and I am going to take full advantage of it.
I dont really want to go shopping, but I work in retailing and so having at look at the latest shop layouts/designs etc would be useful, so anything new is of interest. But some people might want to find those local places you never read about in books!
Best examples would be Melrose Arch in Jhb - living/office/shopping precint Gateway near the King Shaka Airport, Durban Canal Walk in Cape Town Maponya Mall Soweto Sandton Square Jhb Husband is Property fund manager - involved in updating malls etc if you want more info/ideas. I just shop there
Re: Shopping and Ice Skating How about Northgate Shopping Center? Not so much for shopping, but would not mind doing some Ice Skating. Any other places where one could Ice skate in Joburg?
Re: Shopping and Ice Skating Best place is Northgate - if in Pretoria you can go to the Kollonade Mall. You are SO going to show off aren't you - in Canada you actually GET snow and frozen lakes . I last touched snow when I was 2 years old!
Re: Shopping and Ice Skating Thanks Gronum, maybe not me ( can hardly skate ) but my son for sure he plays hockey at a high level.
Re: Shopping and Ice Skating I'm not malls fan but would recommend, Clear Water Mall and East Gate Mall.
the sunday flea market/craft fair in the parking garage of rosebank mall in johannesburg is pretty cool. its also got a few food vendors as well if youre there on sunday its a cool place to check out, and since its adjacent to rosebank mall theres no reason why not to go.
